hi mediaogg!

just to remember here is my question/suggestion for an update: When there is a user I borrowed more than one DVD, f.e. seven, and the DVDs are overdued, the User gets 7 eMails. Is it possible to make one eMail of it where all the seven DVDs are listed? This would be a bit nicer, no one wants to find a flood of these eMails in his inbox. One eMail would be enough, I think.
It would be nice to check out if this is possible for you to make.
But so far: thanks for the plugin

By the way, I didn't forget about this.

Nice plugin but is there a update coming up for DVD Profiler 3.5.*?

Edit; maybe a little bit more information is required; Everytime I want to use the plugin, the plugin freezes when the plugin wants to send a e-mail. DVD Profiler also freezes.
Sys specs; Win Vista Home SP 1.
In the eventviewer the only information available says; "application hang".
Used version DVD Profiler; 3.5.0.1240

Hope you have enough information.
If you don't; contact me!

Hi Danny.

I'm not sure that it is a 3.5.0 problem. It could also be a Vista incompatibility.

(1) Is it Home Basic or Premium?
(2) Have you run the plugin sucessfully on DVDP 3.1 1171 ?

Also, if you click on the detail information, can you tell me which dll is mentioned in the APPCRASH description?

Thanks.

Hi!

It's not a Vista problem! Thats for sure.
Yesterday I installed the plugin by my father in law. He uses Vista Home Basic.
There wasn't a dll mentioned.. It just said; dvdpro.exe hang.

I always used the plugin myself on my VM. (I have Windows XP Pro SP2 installed as a virtual machine espacially for DVD Profiler!  )
The plugin did work, but when I updated my own DVD Profiler to version 3.5.0 yesterday it gave the same problem; Application hang. No detailed information available in the eventviewer. Detailed information says: "unknown".

So on XP & Vista there is no detailed information cause he says: "unknown".

I tried with and without a ssl connection.
When I enter incorrect information the programs puts the error in the title bar of the messagebox but when I enter correct data, after a few seconds the program hangs.

Gasp ...

Thanks for the good info. Investigating ...

Edit: I was successful in sending an email from 3.5.0 1240 on Vista Home Premium, pre-SP1 (can't install it). It took me awhile to get my SMTP server set right - I actually don't use this plugin, so I forgot how.

Anyway, the email was sent, however, DVDP did complain during shutdown, so something is happening. I get so many weird errors, only on Vista, that I have a difficult time figuring out whether and why my plugin is the issue.

What fields do you have selected for use in the email? Maybe that's a clue.

Seems ok to me, assuming that you have verified that port 465 is valid for your SMTP host. I use port 25, but I've long since forgotten why.

And your English is fine - far better than my Dutch or German or French!

It's working! But I haven't changed any setting..
The plugin doesn't freeze anymore on my virtual machine with Win XP SP2.

Later this week I will check it out by my father in law. He uses Vista.
I will post the result.

As I said; I thought everything was ok but the email never arrives. With port 465!

I changed port 465 to 25 and the plugin freezes again.

Edit; I downloaded the plugin again, reinstalled it. And when I switch to port 25 it doesn't freeze!
Edit2;  Email arrives..

Good. I suspect that the port change did not take effect until memory cleared. Probably had more to do with the fact that Profiler was restarted. Anyway, I suspected the port issue from when I first saw it, and I'm glad the problem is solved!

Ok take cover. DVD Profiler plugin noob user posting ^^'

Since I just yesterday noticed that I'm missing some DVDs (again) and I have no idea where they are I thought it's finally time to use the loan feature and I remembered that there also was a nice plugin to send emails to those poeple having DVDs for ever at their home.

Now I installed it, clicked on the exe file and just presse buttons till it finished. DVD Profiler mentioned something about a new plugin at the first start after the installation and now I'm totally lost.

I checked the pic u posted but I cant find that menu entry. DVDeMail is not listed if I open the installed Plugins inside DVDProfiler.

What am I missing? xD

EDIT: I'm using Windows 7, so I kinda fear that this could be a problem.
EDIT 2: I feel silly... Jesus, shouldn't do something new without a night of sleap... Seems to work Somehow I just downloaded an other plugin and installed it... *jumping out of the window*

Just forgett it. The only problem was that I didn't sleep the last night and tried to get it to work at around 10 AM. Works like a charm. Thanks for the nice plugin. And as far as I can tell runs fine on Windows 7.

About my erroneous post:
If it's that confusing I propably have to take english lessions again... I notice some errors in it, but nothing I would think makes it not understandable ^^'
