| Posted: | | | | Hi, Is there a plugin or tool that would let me view the Cast pictures along with the names without having to check each Profile individually? Jim F. |

| Posted: | | | | It would be useful to have an example. If you edit any profile, then go to Cast - you can see all the cast members in your database (is this true?), and pictures if they exist.
How would your concept be the same / different from this?
What if you used the "Headshot Master Database" - would that contribute to your needs?
If your concept has useful features beyond those, or would add something cool on top of them, maybe somebody will be motivated to build it. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. | | | Last edited: by mediadogg |

But you can also use the Cast photos folder when you name the images correctly. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

So you could export them all as image files and browse them in Windows. So the cast pictures are not image files? The official head shots are included in the database. But, as you know, you can augment your access to pictures by adding them to the Gallery and by dragging and dropping from a browser or file. The pictures that you personally add are stored as images in the DVDP folders, using naming rules that are documented somewhere. You can search the threads - we have discussed various aspects of this over time. Probably in the head shots master database thread. And, as Tom said, using a plugin, you can extract the head shots and export them or manipulate them as images. Again, since this basic browser function is already in DVD Profiler, I would be interested in understanding the OP's vision of what he needs over and above this. (The title of the problem "external to DVDP", and the description "withought having to click on each profile", are different - which is the real requirement, or is it both?) | | | Thanks for your support. | Posted: | | | | It seems that the CCV plugin us the answer. I have it running now. It appears that it's extracting the data from each profile. Oh no! It appears to have frozen at 2489 profiles. I was really hoping to extract the data from the master cast image database if such a thing exists. I didn't want to have duplicate images. I'll investigate further. Jim F. |

| Posted: | | | | Whew! All is well with Profiler. All of my images were replaced with blue rectangles after I had the freeze up. I immediately exited Profiler and did a complete database repair and no problems now. The exported images are exactly what I was hoping for and alphabetically they went from A thru Z. I didn't know in what order the profiles were being scanned so I guessed alphabetical and chose a profile near the end with a character with an image in a single profile. The actor showed up in the exported listing. I next guessed by collection number and an actor in one of the highest number profiles did not appear in the listing. So the listing is not complete. I'll try to minimize all background tasks and try again. Jim F. |

| Posted: | | | | H mediadog, I was briefly overwhelmed by the replies and when I saw the reference to CCV plugin I had to try it. I didn't realize that there were pictures accompanying the names when a profile was being edited. They're a bit small so that's not ideal. Where can I find the "Headshot Master Database" you referred to? That sounds promising if the CCV plugin doesn't complete. Even though I subscribe to a topic I'm never notified. I have to check into that also. Jim F. |

| Posted: | | | | Hi, I'm looking for a way to view the images I have, not some Invelos master list. Whenever I add a disc I view the images and replace any I'm not satisfied with. As usual, my tastes are at some variance with the rules here. If someone appeared in thirty or forty movies when they were in their twenties and did a cameo when they were 90 I'll choose an image that I find most evocative. Something like that anyway. Using the CCV plugin I haven't been able to do a compete export. It creates a 249MB file and locks up. I don't know if the problem is due to a limitation of the plugin or some bad data on my system. Still checking. Jim F. |

Still checking. Jim F. Please don't be so dismissive. You are asking somebody to write code for something that already exists because it is not exactly what you want. (1) You can browse the head shots in your database already. The pictures are small, but if you double click on it, you get a browser full of alternative pictures of all resolutions that match that name, even if the database photo is blank (2) There is a way to clean out unused photos from the head shot master DB, after you get them merged into your database. This way, you have no blank head shots. You at least have something to look at to click on, then you can choose an alternate. Very easy, very fast, built into the program. The methods for doing all of that are in the referenced thread. You have yet to explain why this doesn't work for you. Of course you don't have to, but I have at least a right to ask for clarification. I don't get why you need an export. If eventually you plan to use the head shots within DVD Profiler, then why not view them and adjust them already in there? Of course, if you have some other purpose, then I will respect that, and move on. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! | Posted: | | | | Hi media, I don't understand in what way you think I was being dismissive or that I was requesting that someone write code for me. From your post it seems that it appeared that I was requesting either or both. I wasn't. I reviewed my posts here and am truly baffled. The CCV plugin did exactly what I was looking for but I wasn't aware that it had that capability. I do regret the confusion. After viewing the images exported by the CCV plugin, even if it isn't complete, I quickly realized that my idea wasn't a good one. Not infrequently, when adding a disc I notice discrepancies or images that are not particularly evocative of the actor. I thought that simply viewing a list of the images would allow me to make notes as to what images I'd like to change. As it turns out my focus has only been on the main actors and I really have no idea who most of the supporting actors are or what they look like. The exported list makes no such distinction. I'll just continue what I've been doing. Jim F.
P.S. I just reviewed my posts and saw my reference to "the master cast image database". I was referring to a file or folder on my computer where all the images were stored. Perhaps this was the confusion?
P.P.S. Referring to your last post items 1 & 2. These appear to refer to what I have done or am currently doing. I hope this posts clarifies that was I was looking for an alternative. Please ask if this doesn't satisfy your request for an explanation. |

| Posted: | | | | @jfrench, Thanks for your thoughtful reply. I wish more often, people would come back and engage in continued discussion after igniting a bunch of activity from other members.
So, I applaud and appreciate your comments, and I enjoyed thinking about your issues and perspectives. Greenie! | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. |
