Recently I came a across a thread where I discovered that one of the BulkEdit functions creates a result that violates database rules. I don't recall intending to do that, so that was a surprise. This post summarizes the issue I think. Anyway, as someone who is often confused about rules discussions, I humbly ask for your advice.
Thanks for your support.

I don't think there is anything to worry about. It is not what your plugin does...  but how some use it that is against the rules. Same thing can be said about the cast and crew aides out there. They are made to give you a starting point by pulling from imdb... then you are supposed to fix per credits if you want to contribute. But I guarantee you that there is those that use it and upload imdb credits.

I don't think the function violates any rules, one just shouldn't use it in certain cases, e.g. the cases discussed in this thread.

If however I e.g. decide to use this function to create children for TV-sets from the parent with complete cast and disc-IDs, because cloning all and deleting unneeded stuff is easier than the other way round, everything is peachy. Given that I don't violate any other rules, but again that wouldn't be BE's fault.

As I replied in the other thread, the tool does not violate the rules, creating a profile in the manner the OP of that thread wanted does. That was what I was pointing out in the post, not that BE does something wrong.
