| Posted: | | | | Question. I just purchased my license and i was curious, can i use this on 2 pcs? that would be great because i could view my collection at work and at home. I use the online storage for my database, do my edits and upload to the cloud. Just curious if 1 license was only good for 1 pc. thanks |

| Posted: | | | | Your license is good for as many PCs as you want to install it on. I currently have it on 2...my desktop and my laptop.
To make things easy, I only add titles to the laptop, then backup and restore to the desktop. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | Thanks for your reply. Would you recomend me backing up and restoring to PC#2 or just uploading to the cloud and then downloading to pc#2?
also, once #2 is up and running i am assuming i can just upload from one to the cloud and then download to the other? am i understanding this process correctly? |

| Posted: | | | | You also have the option of running in client server mode. All updates are made on the "server" copy of DVDP, and they are automatocaly synced to the other copy(ies) of DVDP running in Client mode on the other PCs. It took me awhile to warm up to the idea, but after I tried it, it makes things so much easier.
And you always have the option of restoring a copy of the server database to any client if you want to at any time, so long as you give access to the storage location of the backup file to the clients in your network. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. | | | Last edited: by mediadogg |

I use my own cover scans and the gallery feature so I use the backup and restore method. If you don't use those, then uploading and downloading will work. Yes, you can do it that way but be careful. If you haven't downloaded the latest version of your collection to the machine you are using, uploading will overwrite the online version. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. From my experience, I don't have much confidence in restoring from "the cloud". I've had problems with it. I suggest making local backups fairly often and doing your restores from that. --------------- |

| Posted: | | | | I run on 4 (two at home, laptop and work).
My main desktop is my master and I do all the work on that and the other PC at home accesses via the internal sharing.
The laptop and work machine I sync up using the on-line list. My desktop always uploads and the two machines I use outside my local net always download from my on-line collections. This loses custom scans but I can deal with that. |
