Hello,

I use DVD profiler on my PC (windows 7) and am very impressed with it. I have uploaded my collection,  (roughly 1350 DVDs) and find it very usefull to monitor and track my collection.
I would like to be able to check my collection from my phone (iphone 4S) but haveing read reviews on itunes and had a look at this forum I am concerned regarding the stability of the software on the iphone. I have very basic tech skills, ideally I need somthing that I can download and will work with minimal tweeking / adjustment.

Would the iphone app be suitable? Is it easy to use / stable?

Regards,

Nic.

Sorry, and one further question. If I download the app do I have to enter all of my DVDs manually or can they be ported accross from the DVD profiler software on my PC?

Thanks again.

Nic

Using the Profiler with a database of over 3900 individual titles on the 4s. Not one problem to date.

I've used DVDP on an iPad 1, iPad 3, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S without any problem at all. As far as I can tell the problems that are reported here arise when a collection originates on an iOS device and is then synced with a PC. I don't think anyone who used the desktop version first and then synced with iOS had a problem so far (other then firewall-related problems).

And yes, you can just sync your database from PC to iOS via Wi-Fi. There is no need to enter anything again. You need to enable sharing on DVDP for desktop but the integrated help in the iOS version tells you exactly what to do (with one exception - always connect with the IP and not the name even though the app recommends doing the opposite).
