Have you ever thought to allow DVD Profiler Clients add/delete/edit movies sored on a shared database? That would be really cool since all my family is working with DVD profiler and the movie list is stored on a server.

This is possible already.
Just not simultaneously.

Simply point the DVDProfiler installations to the location of the database (Menu: Datei -> Datenbank öffnen ...)
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Yes indeed. But I cannot add new DVDs to the database using one of the clients. Only through the software running on the server. Right?

What Lewis meant wasn't "Select Shared" which access the data DVD Profiler 2 DVD Profiler but "Browse" which access the data on the file level. For that the data-folder has to be accessible as "shared network folder".

Just testet your suggestion - it doesn't work for me. I still need one instance of DVD Profiler running on the server so that all our iOS devices can read the database.

So here comes my question again: Do you plan to add real network functionality to this product?

The problem are the iOS devices.
Those can't contact the database files directly.

Full parallel database access would be a great addition to this program. In fact that great that it had been asked several times before.

I'm just not sure that it will work for mobile variants of DVDProfiler, since they never were designed to be stand-alone programs.

Full parallel database access for Windows and Macs and limited acces for iOS devices (read-only) would be more than enough. With this feature I would be extremely happy. Can we put this feature on the request list? Please?

I fear that many of the requests of this nature come from wanting something for nothing. DVD profiler has always been a personal use program. It is so good that many people, while not admitting to it, wanted features that were more in line with abusiness. Like tracking multiple copies of a title, sending out return reminders, etc. There are good programs for that purpose, but people wanted the capability but not have to pay for it, several hundred dollars. I fear this request is in much the same vein, nut I hope not.
