There needs to be a way to "ADD CHILD" to a Box Set without having to create a seperate DVD from scratch.

For example:  Sasquatch Horror Triple Feature

Let's say you did what I did and entered all three movies under the title and didn't seperate them.  In fact, I downloaded the profile to begin with and just got a scanned image of the dvd.

Okay... here I am at the "Box Set Contents"  page and want to add three new "Children" which will appear in that DVD as a set.

From there I would be able to copy/paste the actors/crew info from the main  to there and delete what is relevant and keep what is needed... then go back and bang!  I got a submission to be proud of and all done nice n quick.

What Im suggesting is this:  Create a button called:  "Make Child"  from the "Box Set Contents" page.
This would make things easier in adding dvd's to it.
Especially since the UPC for the box set is completely different from any individual movie dvd which might normally appear in such a box set.

In this case,  the dvd's for each of the films (from above) DO NOT EXIST.  (i.e Snow Beast, Sasquatch, the legend of bigfoot, and The Snow Creature  were never released on DVD seperately)

This idea would also be very useful for future "compilations" of triple packs or quad packs or other series where companies are merging themed related movies into one DVD rather than trying to release them individually.

It would give submitters more flexibility in submitting newly released box sets without having to resort to adding individual movies which in some cases wouldn't be accurate.  (I've seen some movies added to box sets which were NOT the correct "cut" or release or even the same region code as what was indicated on the box set overall)

No offence; but if you've seen this then the person who created that boxset is to blame - not the way boxsets are created.

The rules are very clear about the process to create a boxset and don't need changing in my opinion.

There are only two ways to add a profile to DVDP and that's by UPC/EAN or Disc ID - simple.

Starting from scracth - once you've read and fully understood the contribution rules - really doesn't take that long.
For example: Today I received Bambi/Bambi 2 blu-ray boxset.
I watched them today and created 3 new profiles (box and 2 films) and submitted them. From start to finish (including checking the cast/crew against the actual film credits) this process took me about an hour.
It's simply a matter of following and understanding the rules.

Perhaps you don't understand all the facts or didn't fully read what happened.

I typed in the UPC to add a movie called  "Sasquatch Horror Triple Feature"  all I got was a front and back scanned images of the dvd.  No actor or crew lists.

So I pop in the SINGLE DVD (not 2)  which has 1 movie on one side...  two movies on the other.
(this should eliminate the arguement aboud disc IDs)

So here are the facts:  Three movies,  ONE UPC number,  ONE disc  - two sides.
Profile (which was just images and minor information, much of which was incorrect) was downloaded automatically.  (I didn't expect I'd be having to contribute it at all)

On the "Box Set Contents"  page,  I simply got the idea that things would be a lot easier if there were an option to add "children" to the contents which could then be edited to match what those contents are.

Simple.

Hey, all Im doing is suggesting an idea to make the program easier to work with.

I personally have no problem with the way you create Child Profiles now. It is easy enough to pop a disc in and create by disc ID. So I see no reason to change that.

I do however wish there was a better way for 2 features on 1 side of the disc. But that is asked for a lot here... and I hope for it with every program update. Until then... I deal with it the way the rules tells us to.

I'm sure an "Add Child" Button could be useful, but you'd still have to pop in that disc or enter the UPC/EAN to create it.  The program must have some unique reference to identify the profile as a new entry.

I woudl like this. The current system is a big pain when dealing with large TV sets with dozens of discs. You have to add every child both as its own profile and to the parent.

No, you can create a profile without disc-id or UPC unly using a (non-unique) title. I do that for DVS's from museums etc. without any Id's.

But those are manual profiles, and as such not contributable.
A profile has to have a UPC/EAN and a locality to make up a unique primary-key. Alternatively a DiscID (in lieu of the UPC, not the one in the Discs-Section) and a locality.

A while back I added some things to Collection\Flagged as part of BulkEdit that I think are for this purpose, such as "Clone Children from DiscIDs" and "Flag Child Profiles." If you are a user of BulkEdit, you might take a look. Apologies if I misundertsood the requirement and this doesn't apply.
