Well, up until recently I had kept all my DVD's in Case Logic Folders/Sleeves and I was up to I think 8 or 9 folders. With about 670 titles it was starting to get cumbersome.

I like the folder as you can flip through and look at the slip covers and find something to fits  your fancy.

The only issue being there wasn't any real order to the movies. I had 4 just for "normal" movies, 1 for Animated Features, 1 for Animated Series, etc etc.

So I picked up a Sony CX995 and went to work making the pile a little more organized by putting all my "movies" in the 400 disk jukebox. As I had about 385 in that category it would take care of 4 folders.

Then I thought about what to do for picking movies, and something I would love would be able to use a tablet of sorts with a front end kinda like this : Cover Slider

Which you can flick through the collection cover images, then select the DVD and have it pull up the Profile page and launch the movie.

So enter Mediadoggs LoadDVD Pro, Bulk Edit and P-Touch Label printer.

So redoing the collections, I pull all my books apart and start putting everything in proper order and assigning slots in the CX995.

So something I did want to be able to do is scan a UPC from a slip cover and have it pull up the profile.

So until I can get the layout with the sliding images I did my Folder sleeves like this :

So the idea here is you can still flip through, scan a UPC and have DVDP pull up the profile. As an added bonus as there are almost no disks I cant get a ton more sleeves into the binders.

Something I am running into thought are box sets and things like the 4 Film Favorites where the child profiles don't have UPC's. I am trying to figure out a way to have something to scan and pull up the profiles and or play the DVD.

Anyone have any suggestions along hose lines ?

thoughts ?

Thanks

-Robert

Bump ?

Still wondering about a barcode to pull child profiles.

Something I was looking to add is add a UPC to a profile, BUT the issue now is that changes the profile itself vs having it as a field in the profile for access.

anyway to add a non profile changing UPC ?
