I noticed that if I add text to Notes when the movies are in Ordered and move the movie to Owned then sync to PC, I may lose my Notes. If I enter again whether in PC or iOS, then sync again, the Notes are intact.

I believe Notes should be sticky and synced over to PC whether they were in Ordered or moved to Owned. Can someone try to reproduce this?

I was not able to reproduce. I added notes to a DVD in Owned on the phone. I also added notes to 2 DVDs in Ordered on the phone. One of them I then moved to Owned on the phone. I synched to desktop. All of the DVDs showed in the right categories and when I clicked on DVD then Personalize, I saw the notes on all three.

Can you think of anything else about the situation or did I do something differently than you did?

Hmmm...your sequence seems right so I wonder if it's random. Let me test it out again and try to pin down the exact sequence that caused me to lose notes. Will get back to you. Thanks Gerri.

Okay, I tested again and I definitely lost my Notes after synching.

1. I added Notes via cut and paste from IMDB for 2 movies in Ordered.
2. I moved both Movies to a. Owned b. Not Watched (custom collection)
3. Checked and Notes are there.
4. Synched with PC.
5. Notes gone in both PC and iOS for both movies.

If I now enter the Notes again and sync, they are added and I won't lose them again.

If it is any help, I set all custom collection to also appear under Owned. Hope you can reproduce this and fix it. Thanks.

Does the same thing happen if you don't cut and paste?

No, I did not test that. Could that make a difference? OK, I'll try it tonight at home where I can sync with my PC. Sync not working from my office no matter what I try. Thanks.

Gerri, you are right!!! Notes that are typed in synched fine. Notes that were copied and pasted were lost. I believe you can reproduce this and hopefully fix it.

In your desktop version, do you have "Use HTML for Notes" checked under options?

I tried just copying and pasting and it works fine.

No, it is not checked. Should I check it? I'll try it checked and get back to you.

No difference Gerri. I still lose Notes that were copied/pasted with "Use HTML for Notes" checked on unchecked. Any ideas what could be the issue? Try copying from IMDB Mobile where it's Taglines/Star Rating/User rating eg:

I will try it. My guess is that there are bad characters in what was pasted so it is stripping the notes.

I tried again by typing exactly what I copied and pasted and the typed Notes synched over perfectly so the issue is definitely a cut/paste issue. Hope this helps.

I think you have to sync with the windows computer both before and after you move the profile ? Please try it again.

For me the notes get deleted every time, without exception.
And I do NOT copy & paste, I type normally.
Here's what I did to reproduce it.
