this movie - http://www.amazon.com/I-Think-Were-Alone-Now/dp/B003KWWDIC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1292623152&sr=1 is not in the database. i have a stack of movies that are not in the database as well.

what's the easiest way to get them in the database?

i've tried searching but can't seem to find a way.

thanks!

What's "easy" in a world like this?

For getting the profile into the database you'd first have to create it.
For this do the following:
-Open the "Add DVD..." dialogue
-Enter the UPC into the datafield -> DVDProfiler will tell you that this UPC is not recognized
-Uncheck the "Download from Invelos"-box in the lower left corner
-Fill in "Title" as requested
-Click on "Add"

You now have a brand new empty profile for the UPC.
For filling this empty profile with data please read the "Contribution Rules" first. They may seem a little hard to understand at a first glance, but they boil down to: Enter what you see in the credits.

If any questions should arise on what or how to enter you can come up any time in this forum and ask. Most of the times you will find helpful people here.

When finished with the profile you'll be asked to submit it to the maindatabase. If you want to, you can do this and help other users of our database. In the requested "contribution notes" name the source of your data and submit it afterwards.
Done.

With a little practice creating a profile from scratch shouldn't take much more then an hour. The first time will, of course, take significantly longer.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Silence is correct in how to create a profile. Just to add to it, our database is 100% user created. The only way a profile is added is when a user adds it themselves. You can add as much or as little information as you want. A lot of people just have certain fields they contribute but complete each field as much as they can.

Another big tip for successful contributing is when you do, add good sources. Tell where you got the information; in other words if you're taking the time from the box, say that's where you got it or if you got it from your dvd player, say that.

And if you have more questions, please ask! We're a pretty helpful group, I've found.

Also important, if you don't want to spend an hour, is that you are not required to enter all data all at once. Id' suggest to start with a bare bones profile, and add (e.g.) cast and crew later, or wait and see if somebody else will.

As for the "Download from Invelos" box, you only uncheck that when you want to create a so-called Manual Profile. Otherwise, I'd leave it checked, so that you will be informed if a profile with the same UPC or Disc ID already exists.

No, not exactly. A so called "manual profile" will only be created if you're on the "Add by Title" tab AND uncheck that box.

If you're on "Add by UPC" or "Add by Disc ID" it just won't download any info at that time. But it will still be eligible for updates for that UPC/DiscID
