I am sure there is many here like me that has been making manual profiles for stuff like 2 movies on one side of a disc and such. Unfortunately when you do this the button links and scores ratings...



... or even the Youtube Trailers don't work... as they are determined by the links page here on the site for the profile and the manual profiles of course don't have a links page.

I would like a section in the Personalize window for these links so we can do it ourselves for our manual profiles.

Here is a mock-up of what I was thinking... maybe a tab for the notes section to go to the links. (Forgive with quick and dirty mock-up)...



Of course I much rather have a solution for 2 movies on one side of the disc... but in my opinion even if we get that this would be still a good thing for the program. Would work for people that make their own dvds... maybe off of cable recordings... if they have bootlegs in their collection.... use custom collection types such as VHS, VCD and so on...This would allow us to have full function of profiler for all of our profiles... even if having a links page here on the site is impossible.

And maybe have it so if these links are used for regular profiles in the main online database... it will over-ride the links on the links page. I am thinking maybe if you don't like the trailer/clip used for the Youtube trailer button... you can have the one you want locally... and it work with the trailer button.

Sounds like a plus I didn't think of. But then I really don't use the XML export for anything is probably why.

I would personally use them all... but the main one I would want is the one for Youtube as I love having the trailer for the profiles (and I don't have a big enough hard drive to store them on).

There is already links that are title (plus year) driven and works with every release with the same title and year...

Problem is that it don't work with the manual profiles since they don't have link pages. The only way I can think it would work the way you are talking about is if they made a link page for the movie/show... which would cause difficulties too. Then you couldn't have release specific links (DVD Reviews and such) without them showing for all of them. Though I would love it if there was a way for Ken to do it... even if not the way I suggested.

Of course anything other then a local link wouldn't allow you do use a different Youtube link then is in the online link page (if you prefer a different trailer or clip).

I made a request like this (for both movie and cast) back when I first joined, so you know I'm all for it

Idea is good but I can't help to think efforts would be better spent on solving the multi feature disc issue. i.e. dual movies, episodes.

Since we know Ken is working on the next beta... I would like to pull this thread back with hopes of seeing it in the next beta.

While I don't profile bonus features, I personally would certainly welcome this for multiple features on a single disc side.
