My Thoughts:
I seen this on cable a while back... and always wanted to add it to my collection eventually. Luckily it is one of the discs that was in one of the latest boxes of DVDs that were given to me. While it has a few slow spots... I mainly find this one very entertaining. It gave me quite a few good laughs. I am glad I finally got this one in my collection.

Myriad mishaps, crude kin (Randy Quaid), encounters with a temptress (Christie Brinkley), financial woes, Aunt Edna (Imogene Coca) on the roof, one security guard (John Candy) and 2,460 miles later, it is indeed a wonder the Griswolds are together. There's never been a family vacation like it. Except perhaps for yours. And that helps explain why National Lampoon's Vacation remains so popular... and so very funny.

My Thoughts:
It has been many years since I seen this movie! And I really enjoyed seeing it again. I forgot how great Beverly D'Angelo looked when she made this movie. I never really seen this movie as a laugh out loud type movie... just a fun film to watch. One thing I found interesting that I never knew before... Anthony Michael Hall played Chevy Chase's son Rusty in this movie. He grew up to star in the TV Series The Dead Zone... which I also enjoyed very much. I am glad I got to see this movie again... it is one I would recommend checking out if you never seen it before.

My Thoughts:
This one is pretty good... but I definitely like the first one better. But if you like the first one... this one is definitely worth having in your collection as well. I think part of the problem was I didn't like the kids as much in this one. Especially the girl... whining about her boyfriend through-out the whole movie. That definitely took away from the movie for me. This series of movies changes the actors that play the kids with every movie. This one could very well have my least favorite of the kids... as I found both of them a bit on the annoying side.

Title: Vegas Vacation
Year: 1997
Director: Stephen Kessler
Rating: PG-13
Length: 94 Min.

Stars:
Chevy Chase

Plot:
When Clark Griswold puts his mind to something, we soon realize he hasn't got one. Still, nothing stops him when the vacation bug hits. This time, he's chosen Las Vegas, the new family entertainment capital of America!

Chevy Chase returns as bubbly, bumbling Clark in Vegas Vacation, a jokers-are-wild laughfest including two other stars from past Vacations. Beverly D'Angelo is back as wife Ellen, doting on the guy she calls "Sparky," and Randy Quaid again delights as grubby goofball Cousin Eddie. Ethan Embry (That Thing You Do!) and screen-debuting Marisol Nichols are Griswold teens who love the round-the-clock nightlife — as long as they don't share it with mom and dad! From Siegfried and Roy's extravaganza to a Hoover dam tour, from cruising to losing (Wallace Shawn as a shifty blackjack dealer) to amorous crooning (Wayne Newton falls for Ellen): watch Clark try to keep family and wallet together!

My Thoughts:
First thing you may notice is that I skipped Christmas Vacation... I did this because I plan on watching it for my 25 Days of Christmas Marathon... which starts here in a few days.

This one I will have to say is my least favorite of the Vacation movies... as I remember enjoying Christmas Vacation. In this case I do like Audry better then I did in the last movie... but this time I really didn't care for Rusty. At this point I still say I liked the kids the best in the first movie. I didn't like the whole side storyline of Ellen (the mother) and Wayne Newton. And there really wasn't too much funny in this one. Sure I got a chuckle or two... but nothing much worth anything. I would say this one is definitely below average.

My Thoughts:
This is the first time I ever seen this one. I enjoyed it... it was a lot of fun watching a new animated Superhero movie. Though I do admit... what with the parallel universes and all it did get a little confusing in a scene here and there... but not too bad really. I said it with the other Justice League animated movie... and I will say it about this one. It just seems strange for me to see Wonder Woman flying! I did however get a kick out of seeing Firestorm in a small part of this movie... I always liked him when I was a kid watching the old Justice League. I also liked how even though she does fly... Wonder Woman ended up with her invisible plane in this one. Now that is how I am used to seeing Wonder Woman! After the movie Brittany and I watched the animated short on The Spectre as well as the 2 Justice League Episodes. They were a 2-part episode also dealing with parallel universes... and the episodes were even more confusing then the movie was. But it was still good. But as I said... I really enjoyed watching this tonight... I just may have to do a Weekend Marathon of the Animated Superhero movies I own!

Title: Saboteur: The Masterpiece Collection

However, it is Barry who is accused of the fiery sabotage, and to clear his name he sets off on a desperate, action-packed cross-country chase that takes him from Boulder Dam to New York's Radio City Music Hall to the top of the Statue of Liberty. Hitchcock's first film with an all-American cast moves with breakneck speed toward its final heart-pounding confrontation, and remains a suspense classic.

My Thoughts:
This is one of the several movies in this set that I have never seen before. I really liked the storyline of this one. And it really had a good start... a very interesting and entertaining first good half of the movie. The rest of it was pretty good as well... though the second half did have some slow parts that was a little more difficult to get through. Sure this movie goes a little heavy on the patriotism... but I think that is understandable between the subject of the movie and the times it was made. It is definitely worth seeing... but I can't say it is my favorite Hitchcock movie.

Title: Shadow of a Doubt: The Masterpiece Collection
Year: 1942
Director: Alfred Hitchcock
Rating: PG
Length: 108 Min.
Video: Full Frame 1.33:1
Audio: English: Dolby Digital: Mono, Spanish: Dolby Digital: Mono
Subtitles: English, French

Stars:
Teresa Wright
Joseph Cotten
Macdonald Carey
Henry Travers

Hume Cronyn

Plot:
Hitchcock collaborated with renowned playwright Thornton Wilder (Our Town) to create this psychological tale of family drama, suspicion...and murder. Joseph Cotton shines as Uncle Charlie, a seemingly charming man visiting his relatives in their small and peaceful hometown. But when his namesake niece, "Young Charlie" (Teresa Wright), suspects that he may in fact be the psychopathic Merry Widow killer, Uncle Charlie must plot the death of his favorite relation in order to remain one step ahead of the law in this murderous game of cat-and-mouse.

My Thoughts:
This is another movie I never seen before. While I enjoyed this one... it is not a favorite. It just don't rank up there for me as those such as Rear Window or Psycho. But it is definitely an interesting story that is well worth watching. I liked the character of Charlie (the niece) the best. Even when scared you could tell she is a strong woman... which is something I always liked... and a bit surprising going by the times this film was made. Teresa Wright, who played the niece, looks so familiar to me. But I must have been confusing her with someone else... as this seems to be the only thing I have in my collection with her in it. Joseph Cotten, who played Uncle Charlie, also did a fine job. I did get a kick out of the father and his friend always plotting each other's murders for fun. So as I said... this is a fine movie... but not the best Hitchcock movie I have seen.

My Thoughts:
This is another one I never seen before... but it is one I have heard of and been excited about checking out. This one has James Stewart in it... and I am becoming a fan of his work. And this one is no different! Such a great piece of work here! From the opening scene I could see this one would be a bit different... as it isn't actually about a mystery. Well maybe a bit of a mystery to the characters... but we, the viewers are let in on the answers from the very beginning. I thought for the most part everyone did a fantastic job. If there is anything at all that I didn't care for... it had to be the character of the housekeeper. I can't put my finger on it... but there was just something about her that bugged me. The storytelling was fantastic... and you can see a real difference in the way the movie was shot... but in a good way... I definitely enjoyed it. This one will rank up there with my favorite Hitchcock films.

Alone and powerless against her tormentor, in a struggle to survive, she stumbles across the secret to this evil force. Is it too late to use it and escape her Invitation to Hell?

Extras:

My Thoughts:
I thought I would start this weekend with a horror movie. From the very beginning I had trouble getting into this movie. Both the audio and video left a lot to be desired. It was like watching an old video tape version on a bad tape that was used a dozen times before. Making it right hard to watch and understand. Also at 41 minutes... extremely short for a movie. Between the quality and the length it was pretty difficult to follow. Though I liked the idea of the story... it should have been given more time to explain the story better.... and much more care of film was needed. Though the quality did improve some off and on through the movie... it really is in bad shape.

My Thoughts:
This is a TV movie that came in the Family Pack 20 movie boxset. It is far from the best football movie I ever seen... but it is worth checking out. It is good enough to keep your interest throughout the movie. Erin Gray had a smaller part in it then I was hoping for. But I guess that is to be expected since she did this movie the same time she was doing Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. Over all a good one... but not one I would go out of my way to see.

Stars:

Plot:
We thought they were just a fairy tale. We were wrong. In an underground bunker, military scientists clone a deadly fire-breathing dragon. The beast rapidly grows to full size and escapes, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. For security chief David Carver (Dean Cain), the only goal is keeping the most fearsome predator to ever walk the Earth from destroying it. For the rest of mankind, the goal is survival.

Extras:

My Thoughts:
This is a direct to video release. I find the storyline interesting... but the movie itself is no more then an average sci-fi/horror fair. They keep using a split screen quite a bit... which takes away from the story for me. I do like Dean Cain... who I know of from Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. I got mixed reactions on how they did the dragon itself... in some scenes it looked really cool. But in other scenes it looked on the cheesy side. I did get a kick out of how they did away with the dragon. Not a bad way to waste an hour and a half... but not something I would go out of my way to watch.

My Thoughts:
I popped this one in first thing this morning. I still not sure exactly how I feel about this one. Sure... the women was beautiful. But at the same time this one felt really dated to me. Not only the look and feel of the movie... but Vixen's ideals as well. This is just not the type of thing I usually watch... and it felt a little off to me. Vixen is just filled with hate and infidelity.... and even incest. Which made her extremely ugly to me.... no matter of her physical appearance. And that is just something I personally don't like to see. It left me feeling disappointed as it goes against values I see important in life. I do not think I am the type of person to get into the sexploitation movies. Other then that visuals... the scenery... and yes the women was definitely worth looking at.

I went into this one with a bit of mixed feelings. First I really enjoyed the first one... so was hopeful that I would like this one as well. Then I noticed this one has Rob Lowe in it. That is the first sign that I may not think too much for this one. Well I figured I will go ahead and give it a go... and if worse comes... at least I got it cheap. I got this one at the local Big Lots for only $3. I think going into this movie expecting the worse helped. As while it is far from a great ghost story... I found myself enjoying it for what it is. Sure it is a step back from the original. But it is still a decent story with some cool scenes and just a bit of gore added in for good measures.

UNSUB: The Complete Series
Unsub was an American television series that aired on NBC from February 3, 1989 to April 14, 1989. The series centered around an elite FBI forensic team that investigates serial murderers and other violent crimes. Unsub is an abbreviation for the unknown subject of an investigation.

My Thoughts:
This is one of the short lived series that is in the Prime Time Crime collection I bought a while back. It only lasted 8 episodes (all of which is in that set). It is a show that I believe they just didn't give the chance to find an audience. I think it was canceled way too soon. As I found the series to be very strong and entertaining from the very first episode. It has a couple familiar faces in it. First there is the leader of the team played by David Soul (Starsky & Hutch, Salem's Lot)... then there is Richard Kind (Spin City)... who played one of the team members. Though he wasn't seen in every episode. The enjoyment I got from this series alone was worth the price I paid for the set.

I decided to pop in this movie that started the series when I found out that today (Jan.7th) is Erin Grey's 61st birthday. I always found this to be a fun show when I was a kid. But I haven't seen this show since... and I must admit I was a little worried on how well it would hold up. While watching this today I definitely felt it was dated... and yes a bit on the cheesy side... but even with that said I still found it to be entertaining. I think I will have fun re-watching this series after many long years.

Title: The New Love Boat
Year: 1977
Director: Alan Myerson, Robert Kinon
Rating: NR
Length: 72 Min.
Video: Full Frame 1.33:1

Stars:
Gavin MacLeod
Bernie Kopell
Fred Grandy
Ted Lange
Lauren Tewes

Plot:
The New Love Boat was the third pilot film for the long-running TV series. After several casting missteps in the two earlier films, the series' regular characters are herein solidified: Gavin McLeod as Capt. Stubing, Bernie Kopell as Doc, Fred Grandy as Gopher, Ted Lange as Isaac and Lauren Tewes as Julie. Guest stars include Georgia Engel as a stowaway, Gary Frank and Melanie Mayron as a pair of tremulous honeymooners, Stella Stevens and Pat Harrington as an eternally bickering married couple, and Audra Lindley and Phil Silvers as, respectively, an outspoken middle-aged lady and a woebegone widower. The New Love Boat was originally telecast May 5, 1977, while the Love Boat series ran from 1977 to 1985.

My Thoughts:
This is a TV movie that started another series I used to watch as a kid... but haven't seen in many years. Much like Buck Rogers it is no more then cheesy fun.... just in a different way. I find that I like seeing all the old guest stars again more then what the actual story is about. But there is a few laughs and entertainment in the stories as well. I am not so sure I would be able to watch this series in a marathon viewing... but think it could be fun to watch an episode here and there as the mood hits.
