I really like DVD Profiler, how easy it is to enter your DVDs, and that I now have a list of my DVDs that I can consult anytime.  I am also painfully aware of all the features I am missing out on by not purchasing DVD Profiler, but I can't afford to shell out $30 for the application right now (wish I could).

Does Invelos ever have holiday specials on DVD Profiler?  I could be seriously tempted to dig up some $$$ from somewhere if it wasn't quite so much...

Thanks for humoring a newbie...         -kd5-

Well... all I can tell you is I been around the profiler forums for a good 10 years now and I never seen it go on special.

But I will say... it is worth every penny! it is the best program for cataloging your DVD collection that I ever seen... and I have tried most of them.

How much do you pay for your DVDs?  Could you hold off buying a couple of those for a bit and purchase the software instead?
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!

Well, at least now I know that I shouldn't entertain any hopes to purchase DVD Profiler for any less that what's posted at the main site.  And Yes, I've been looking at several applications for cataloging my DVD collection and DVD Profiler is by far the best and easiest to use that I've found.

Thanks for responding,      -kd5-

I don't spend a great deal of money on DVDs very often.  My last purchase was for more than I usually buy at any given time:  3 bargain bin DVDs for $13 total.  I usually spend the least amount of money possible (much to my wife's relief) for a DVD when I buy it (or win it at auction on Ebay), and I don't buy DVDs regularly.  $30 is alot of money for me to cough up for an application to catalog DVDs for which I've paid the least amount of $$$ imaginable, but one of these days I'll find some extra money in my wallet that's not earmarked for other things...

Thank you for responding too...         -kd5-

For what it's worth, they do have that snappy gift tab on the website so that you can ask for a registration as a present.  Just another thought.

I really think it isnt so much. I am a tightwad and at first didnt want to spend any money but for a one time fee and the option to check your collection online i had to do it. Really i think the trial version is great and makes it easier to drop your hard earned dough when you get a taste of what it can do!!

Thanks for responding everyone, I guess I just need to hope some extra $$$ comes along, I'd really like to unlock all the features of DVD Profiler but it may be a little while yet.

Thanks again,      -kd5-

Kind of like a PM but an auto message. If that user accepts, a mutual friendship is added for those two. Inversely, perhaps an option to disable Friend Requests with a message along the lines of "Sorry, this user isn't accepting Friend Requests at this time".

My wife decided to give me a DVD Profiler license key as an early birthday present, I couldn't be happier...         -kd5-

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

I've a feeling I'm going to like all the features that have become available to me, I especially like being able to upload my collection (and show it off ).  I know I don't have many DVDs but what I do have I'm proud of.  Movies have to have a certain quality about them before I'll buy, I'm the same way about my music.  Got a ways to go before I catch up to the number of albums I have and my wife is probably hoping that won't happen anytime soon.  Anyway, that's really not my goal.  I'm not really going for quantity, I'm going for quality and entertainment/rewatch value.  Besides, I don't think I could fit another bookcase in here...

Oh well, I'm rambling, better go.  Hope I don't rub anyone the wrong way while I'm here.

Thanks again everyone,      -kd5-
