First thing to do is read our Contribution Rules, then make sure you are following them. You don't give a lot information

Basically it's quite simple:

Enter the credits as you find them.
For Cast data that's usually all of the magic.
For Crew it's a bit more complicated, because we don't enter all of them but only a selected few.
I recommend a deeper glance at the abilities of the profile editor which already explains a lot, if questions should arise we're always there to help you (at least some of us ( )).

Thanks for the info and the welcome :-)  The clone info is a good thing, as I do have a version of Vincent Price's "The Bat" that's not listed.  My next concern is that I notice when I enter something like the Friday the 13th box set I get a lot of pop-ups asking me to add profiles for the movies inside the set.  I have a couple horror movie collections that aren't in the database, and I'd like to add those, so I need to find where to attach other movies to a profile.

I'm just a little intimidated by the process because I had used DVDSpot ever since its inception (and was one of the editors for them), so learning a new process always throws me off a bit.  I'll catch up, though! :-)

Also, keep in mind you don't need to contribute everything right from the start. UPC, Locality, Title (and perhaps production year (which is actually theatrical release year)) are all that are required.

with those fields a common mistake is locality. This should be the country that the disc was made to be sold in. When adding a new profile it will default to your well default locality (i believe) so double check this value to make sure your not creating a US Profile for a UK disc (a very common example I see).

Start with the fields that are easy then as you get more comfortable with the contribution process you can start with more complex fields (cast, crew, etc).
