| Posted: | | | | Please can you take just part of a day to update the rules to current standards with better wording to avoid confusion? This will cut all the constant rubbish in the forums and make it seem like you care. Thanks. | | | Last edited: by samuelrichardscott |

| Posted: | | | | Sorry but no wording of the rules will stop the puerile bickering in this forum. Rules will be written context sensitive language not Backus–Naur Form.

| Posted: | | | | Awesome Sam! Nice green for you.
An update to the rules, clarification on the rules, a nice simple solid answer in any of the lovely little bickering threads that go on daily around here, anything would be nice.
Hell, at this point, if Ken has given up and just looks at this forum as a disaster area that he has no interest in taking part in, at least telling us THAT would be a step forward. At that point, at least we'd know what's going on... at least we'd know what to expect in the future. As of right now, it's just a continual gong show that gets more and more tired each and every single day. It's annoying trying to scroll through 18 pages of mud slinging to try and get to any kind of actual answer or useful information presented in the threads. All it would take to stop it is a few simple keystrokes... I don't think that's asking too much at all for the people who have shelled out money to use this program. | | | The night is calling. | Posted: | | | | Why don't we just rewrite the rules and submit them to Ken for approval?
Ken's made it clear that he tries to go with the community's wishes on the way things are handled (within reason). We could use the Rules Committee forum and take each section, one at a time, and try and fix it to the solve any of the problems that have arisen over the years. We already have the framework of the existing rules. Sometimes it will require a simple rewording, or adding an exception. In some cases, it might mean adding new rules.
Each rule change, once decided upon in the main topic, would receive its own thread with a poll to determine whether it should be accepted or not. We can go with a 2/3 majority for the rule to be accepted, rather than a simple 51%. Allow voting for 3 days before a rule can pass.
This way, we can make sure that each and every proposal is heard. Once it is complete, it can be submitted to Ken for final revision, where he can make any final changes that he feels are necessary.
The benefit is that we will have a record through these threads to show future users how the decisions were made and everyone will get their say.
What do you think? |

After the second attempt, Ken gave us the Rules forum so that we could discuss changes...and we have, even had polls on wording changes and everything. Very little has made it into the rules. What do you think? I signed up for the rules committee forum in August. When I try to log in I still get this message: "Currently your account is waiting for approval from a staff member. Once an administrator has approved your account you will get access to this forum." I have sent 2 messages through the "Contact Us" requesting an update on my status. I have yet to receive a response to either request. If my situation is typical, I don't see that the Rules Committee forum will be much help except for those members who are already members. |
