When I initially tried to add this DVD to my collection, it was not in the database. There was a Blu-ray edition in the database only. On 11/4 I entered a contribution for this DVD. In the interest of keeping the database accurate, I only enter information that I am sure of. If I don't know, or am not sure of the correct entry, I don't enter it.

Today, I checked and found that this title has now been entered into the db, even though my contribution is still shown as "Received." There is some incorrect information in the new entry. It appears that perhaps some info was copied from the Blu-ray version, even though it's wrong. For example: "Regions" shows as No region encoding, when the DVD is actually Region 1. The "DVD release date" is shown as 10/6/2009. This is the correct release date for the Blu-ray of this title, BUT the DVD release date is 11/3/2009. The "Production Year" is shown as 2009. The correct info for this is 2008 - It is wrong on the blu-ray entry as well.

Should I delete the contribution from 11/4, then re-enter a new contribution with the corrected information?

It sounds like some of the info may've been copied from the Blu-ray, in which case they should be changed.

Be careful to check that the info being changed is definitely correct. For example, have you checked that the actual disc is region coded or is it only the info on the box?

Also, although the field says Production Year, it's actually the first theatrical release that we use. From info I could find (although 3rd party) I couldn't find anything before 2009 for it.

Agree with FTR, make sure the the info you change is correct and then submit that.

This sometimes happens when two, or more, people submit an initial contribution in a short amount of time.  the first one was accepted, and your's becomes a change.  So, to answer your question, you should withdraw your contribution and resubmit the corrections with the appropriate contribution notes.

Did you submit actors / crewmembers with yet unaccepted birthyears?
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?
