| Posted: | | | | I travel a lot and can not take my entire collection with me(700+). What I'm looking for is a way to list just what I have with me in the binders I do take. I have the information inputted in the personal information tab, location and slot filled in. I just can't seem to make use of this data to limit the viewable dvd selection. I'd like to select Location A,B,C.... and list only those. What would be even better is a multiple selection for when ya can bring more than one binder! Great Program, glad I registered . I tried searching the forum for this. Sorry if this is a duplicate post. |

Great Program, glad I registered. I tried searching the forum for this. Sorry if this is a duplicate post. If you can't find a way to do this, you might want to take a look at flags. There are some very simple, yet powerful things you can do. For example, after you sort by location, it would be very easy to flag the subset you need, then just print a report on flagged profiles only. Examples: (1) To get all the profiles at the bottom of the sorted list, "flag all below" (2) To get all the profiles at the top of the sorted list, "flag all above" (3) To get the ones in the middle, "flag above," then "flag below," then "invert flags" and you will have the ones in the middle flagged to report on. | | | Thanks for your support. | Posted: | | | | If you get the Database Query plug-in, it will allow you to search by slot and/or location.
Another option would be to use the Tags feature of the program. Setup tags for each binder then tag each movie. Then you can filter on whichever tags you wish. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

| Posted: | | | | You mention "search by location". I am new to DVD profiler, how do I add the "location" of my DVDs (I have some DVDs on a shelf and I have some DVDs in a rolodex type spindle). Where on DVD Profiler do I go to add a location. Please be very specific. Once I add a location, you say I can use your database query plug-in to sort by location? What a nice feature. Do you have an guidance on how to do this once I open you database query?
While I am asking a question, do you know how to make the "watched by" or user" portion of DVD Profile more friendly. DVD Profiler allows me to use the "Watched By" feature to mark who has watched the movie in my family. I want to know if there is a way of sorting or filtering on this? Let's say I have three members in my household, Dad, Mom and Daughter. If I want to sort/filter on all of the movies that Mom has not seen yet and then print out a report of those movies, how do I go about doing this? There are two issues here, one is the sorting and two is the printing. I am hoping that your plug in will do the sorting? Is there an easy guide on how to create custom reports...I have not seen any sample reports based on the "watched by" criteria.
Thanks for any replies. |

| Posted: | | | | To add the location of your DVDs, you go to Personalize DVD (you can also use Ctrl-P for quick access). At the bottom of the window you'll see Location and Slot fields, which you can fill in for each disc in the profile. |
