| Posted: | | | | A little question about the movie "Män som hatar kvinnor" In the end credits there are listed Eric Kress as "Fotograf" Which I say it's the same as Cinematograper. Then under his credit there are listed Jens Fischer as "Kompletterande Fotograf" In my opinion, he does not get a credit, since he's not either Cinematographer or Director of Photography. What do the Swedish people say? | | | "What's God?" "You know when you want something really bad and you wish for it?, God's the guy that ignores you" -The Island, Steve Buscemi |

| Posted: | | | | I'd say Eric Kress as Cinematographer, Jens Fischer no credit since that's an assisting title.
If Eric Kress is the only cinematographer listed, you can also safely assume that he's the DOP but we don't have that credit as such. Sometimes you will see "A-foto" and then it's definitely a DOP credit. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | In Norway we usually have "Fotograf" which is Cinematographer and "Sjefsfotograf" wich is Director of Photography. I will re-audit the credits for it as soon as possible I mean that I have seen in other swedish credits sjefsfotograf, but I might be mistaken. Anyway "Kompletterande fotograf" looks/hears like assistant photography/b-roll etc.. So Jens Fischer will be removed (someone has credited him allready) | | | "What's God?" Unfortunately there are no consistent film credits in Swedish films so you'll see these kind of variations all the time. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | I looked at Svensk filmdatabas and it seems that Jens Fischer replaced Eric Kress during the last five weeks of shooting. Based on that, I'd be inclined to give him a credit, but it's open to debate... | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

Based on that, I'd be inclined to give him a credit, but it's open to debate... In the norwegian profile Eric is listed as DoP which is wrong, he's cinematographer due to listed as "Fotograf" However in the profile someone has listed Marcos Engman as Cinematorapher. But I have to recheck the credits before I make the changes. And if you say that Jens Fischer replaced Eric, I would list Jens as well, as Cinematographer. Do you have a link to that database? The credits in the movie lists Jens first in some seconds, and then Eric Kress appears under as "Kompletterande Fotograf" in the same credits, if you know what I mean. And since my little grey hairs starts to rumble, I should have known that "kompletterande" means Finishing photography?.... So IMO both gets a credit | | | "What's God?" Not being Swedish I have just followed, but your second credit reminds of an English credit, which might be at the end of a film and might say Additional Cinematogrpahy...as such he would NOT be inncluded.

| Posted: | | | | Here's the database, it used to be found under SFI (Svenska Filminstitutet) but now has its own domain. Svensk FilmdatabasUse the search box and look under Filmteam. (Every title is also available as a PDF-document.) | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 | | | Last edited: by Nexus the Sixth |

| Posted: | | | | Now this is interesting, and something I haven't noticed before... If I select English instead of Swedish and type the title into the search box, I get an English fact sheet that actually lists Kress as DoP. Quote: Director of Photography: Eric Kress And no mention of Jens Fischer... Although the English fact sheet is obviously much less detailed than the Swedish version. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 | | | Last edited: by Nexus the Sixth |

| Posted: | | | | Patrik: First off don't ever trust anything that IMDb lists. Sometimes they are ciorrect but as often as not they are dead wrong. I find myself wishing I had an English version of the film in collection so I could see the Actual credits. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

| Posted: | | | | First of all, it's not IMDb. More like AFI or BFI if you know them.
Secondly, I would only use it as support for cases that are not clear from the film credits. They are not meant to be replacements. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 | | | Last edited: by Nexus the Sixth |
