| | Posted: | | | | I just came across an interesting problem. When we have names Like Bruce Willis, Brad Pitt and the like, obviously it is easy to assign roles or crew assignments. What about a name like Michael Miller According to CLT, he is attributed to 148 + titles 70 of them as cast 1959 - 2008 various roles on screen and tv. He is also credited in 78 crew positions including Director, Editor, rerecording mixer, production sound mixer, screen writer, and producer (1967 - 2006) Even imdb  has like 20 different listing for Michael Miller in various formats. Question, How do we even begin to seperate all of these into there respective parts? BY's are near impossible. |

Of course it depends on the size of your DVD collection, but from what I've seen, I think it's safe to say that everybody needs at least fifty fake, local-only birth years in their database for this. If not, you can be sure you've got many, many credits linked together incorrectly. It's a HUGE amount of work to get this sorted out - I still encounter new ones every few days, and there's hardly ever a birth year to be found - and since there's no way to share this information, everybody has to do it for themselves. Which probably means that most just won't bother. |
