I've noticed that also but it doesn't seem as simple as some people make it out to be, because I think you need to upload it to your own website.

That's true, it does require own webspace, but you can get 3GB including a domain name for about 28€ (40$) from One.com

The set-up of phpdvdprofiler took me about 30 mintues, mostly to configure the script to match my website's details. Then, it takes some time to upload all your covers but that is not hard at all, it just takes a bit of time.

After that, it's a simple matter of updating which really is a breeze:
- export collection to xml
- upload xml file to server
- logon and click the update button.
optional:
- upload new and/or changed covers

The first install I think took me about 1 hour, all things considered. Updates take me 5 minutes or less, depending on whether or not there are cover updates to perform.

To make cover updates easier, just go into your local collection folder and into the images folder: sort on date and every cover that has a creation date later than your last website update, is a cover you need to upload.

Hi All
I'd like to have a report save to disk so I can burn it onto a dvd and then play it using the chapter forward and back button (or other) to view the full movie list on-screen so we can choose a movie to watch without using a hard-copy book. Can anyone tell me if they have done this please?... and if so, if any plugin or other software is required; and the steps that need to be taken to make it all work.  Hope someone can help

You could use a program like FreePDF, which installs a virtual printer. These free PDF-creators can make PDF-files from practically any printjob.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Ive tryed loads of PDF printers (not just free ones) and PDFCreator is by far the best one:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/

For readers FoxIt reader is the best one, though the free version has some limitations but still does more then Adobe Reader:

I downloaded the free PDFCreator (thanks for the link - much appreciated), then I created the PDF file of the DVD listing report I wanted and put it onto disk. I put the disk into my player, but it couldn't read the file or display it. I'm a real novice at all this computer stuff... did I have to do something else?

Yes, your mobile device needs a PDF-reader.
Either the original (http://www.adobe.com/de/products/reader/) which is a real resource hog.
Or a smaller program named foxit, which basically does the same (http://en.softonic.com/s/foxit)
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?
