Hi everybody
just new and want to know why some images in my online profiler are missing.
the images from dvds are correct, but from some TV-movies I insert own images. these images were not displayed.
http://www.invelos.com/dvdcollection.aspx/Olaf.Heeg

just look for number 130 with 3-4 tv-movies... in my programm there are still the images, online they are missing.

Any help?

Thanks
Olaf

Welcome!

If you add images to your local and then contribute the new profile to the online, once that contribution gets accepted the online database will then contain the images.
Everybody who owns that title will now see the image that you uploaded when looking at their online.

Basically if your online doesn't show a cover then it's just not in the online-database yet. Your local is completely seperate and will show all covers you've added yourself.

While viewing your collection I noticed you have quite a few with the description:

Manual DVD #xxx (DVD)

Are these recordings from TV? If so you can't contribute them as I stated in previous post. In that case you'll never be able to see the cover in your online, only locally

Read the contribution rules BEFORWE making any iammge Contributions, As noted however, YOUR images do NOT get uploaded to your Online collection, with 500,000+ users there isn't enogh storage in the world (well, maybe an exaggeration, lol) to store every users images so that anyone looking can see their preferred Covers.

You can also use phpDVDProfiler for online, it allows you to have all your images, even from manual DVDs.

Are you suggesting that there are 500,000 (half a million) paid users of DVDProfiler at $30 a pop?

I highly doubt that.  If so, Ken would be hiring programmers, at least on a contract basis, to get the bug fixes and new features into DVDProfiler, not to mention the iPhone application.

This is a very good suggestion. The online component of DVDProfiler is a nice feature but rather limited (both in form and fuctionality). Exporting your collection and uploading it to your own server using the phpDVDProfiler script is imho currently the best way to give you as many online bells & whistles as possible.

registered user doesn't necessarily mean paying user
You have to register an account to upload your collection, and although since version 3 you are limited to upload < 50 profiles withoud paying it still is a difference.
