I just purchased my first 7 DVDs from the new Warner Archives Collection.  Does anyone know of any obstacles to contributing them to the site?

You may want to see this thread.

I think so long as it has either a unique UPC or you can get a Disc ID from it you would be able to submit.

You should encounter no obstacles whatsoever. The covers have unique upc's on them and your disc drive in your computer will read the disc to get a disc ID number.

There is a note on the WB Archive website that says the disc ID may be unreadable in PC DVD player/burner hardware.  The discs are optimized for player only hardware.

I had no problems at all getting Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze to be recognized and play on my computer, but the back cover does include a note that says this:

Quote:
"This disc is expected to play back in DVD Video "Play Only" devices, and may not play back in other DVD devices including recorders and PC drives"

I played it on an LG Super Multi drive, which will play virtually any format though. I've heard people on other forums are having difficulty with playing them on computer drives.

I ran a few quick tests (I have 3 computers in front of me (1 vista, 2 XP)) and if you have an XP computer that does not play these films, simply download a DVD playing software and you will be able to watch your movies. There are a few free programs on-line (ie., VLC Media Player) and it seems that any of the premium programs (ie., Power DVD) will work fine. The standard Windows DVD playing software is not compatible with these discs because media player would not load them on either of my 3 machines. I could not get the discs to play on my Vista Machine..... yet.
