Fox released them all as steelbooks on initial release. Further re-releases were re-packaged in keepcases with slip-covers. They are identical, except for the packaging.
Releasing companies do this all the time, whereby they drop certain aspects of the original DVD release to cut costs - usually they dispose of the slip cover first, any inserted booklets (apart from the advertising junk , of course), and will re-issue in keep cases as these are cheaper. As DVD Profiler's data will always stand-by what was on the initial release, you will see a few packaging anomalies if purchasing older release DVD's now (e.g. in Region 2 UK land you'll see a lot of Digipaks, that are now only available as keepcases: American Werewolf in London, The Fog etc. as well as Titles that were released with slip covers, which have now been dropped - e.g. Pulp Fiction, The Rock etc.)
My bet is if you were to order any of the Fox definitive editions now, you would receive the keepcase/slip-cover version - unless you bought from somewhere like eBay where they'd have to state the case type in the description. |
