| Posted: | | | | I've just noticed tonight that "Special Effects" is now listed in the drop-down list as a language option for the audio tracks and I'm having a hard time trying to think of a situation where this would ever be used. Does anyone know why this was added to the program? |

| Posted: | | | | I was about to say i haven't seen one then thought to search.
My Toy Story (717951005816) box set has an Effects only track for each film.
Edit: and i see no evidence of a recent update so this must have been in the program for some time. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! | | | Last edited: by tweeter |

| Posted: | | | | The DVDs from "A BUG'S LIFE" and "THX 1138" also deliver a "sound effects only track". On "Chicken Run" and "March of the Penguins" you may find a "Music & Effects only" track. | | | Last edited: by schaumi |

I do have about a dozen "Music & Effects" tracks, yes - but it didn't really occur to me just yet that I could enter them as "Special Effects". I currently have them listed as "Music Only", which, according to the notes in DVD menu, is the main reason for their inclusion ("Listen to [composer name]'s score without dialogue!"). Since the key is the music, I think I still prefer "Music Only" instead of "Special Effects". You are saying more audio types can be added to the program on the fly? Regardless the profiles in question have nothing in the history back to March 2007 indicating (or even hinting) a change in the Audio content. My deduction from that was that this audio selection has been there at least since the first Invelos release. The changes may have slipped in under the radar since then but i didn't see evidence of that. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

I know for a fact that changes to the various localities' film ratings can be (and are being) done through the daily updates, and I seem to remember that audio types and subtitles could be updated this way too. I'm not entirely sure, though, but it would explain the sudden appearance of this "Special Effects" audio track. | | | Last edited: by T!M |

| Posted: | | | | Not sure what i was smoking 24 hours ago but looking again i see the it was myself who added the Special Effects track info to the Toy Story 1 & 2 profiles on 11/25/2008. I looked right past that when i reviewed the contribution notes last night.
So the option has been there at least since 3.5.0. and wasn't slipstreamed into the program since then. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |
