Just did a contribution where I used the credit lookup tool to verify the correct name of an actor.

The problem is that the name in the end credits is not listed in the credit lookup tool, but a similar name is. The similar name is only listed once in the tool, and this is the same DVD I'm profilinShould I still use the credited as feathure, or just ignore it?

Enter the name exactly as it appears in the credits and submit it stating exactly what you did here in your notes.

Ideally a few more details would be helpful, name of person, name you found in CLT and name of film.
But based on what you've said it sounds like maybe the person who submitted the other credit made a typo if it's the same film you're profiling. If that's the case then simply use the name you have in the end credits.

I agree with northbloke...it does sound like the other entry may have been a typo.

Thanks, here's the details:

"Moscow Zero" is the name of the film.

Cast in question: credited as Andrés Bernal (only name in credit lookup: Andres Bernal 1:1)

Yes, I am probably a tad picky, but from what I've learned, I should actually use the one in the credit tools, and use credited as. Though I think you're right, we're allowed to use our head.

Think the year is a typo as well, but you'll now also find my contribution in the credit lookup.

I'm just actually trying to at the same time say that you can't always trust the "credit lookup tool", as this is a very easy to make typo.

Those details make a stronger case for it being a typo.  My guess is that the original contributor didn't know how to replicate the 'é', so made it an 'e'.
