This is more a heads up then anything... but this is not the first time I have seen this and it seems to keep happening. Especially with the new Television Rating System for Region 1 US Locality profiles.

As you can see there is on the right the Canadian Ratings of PG... but on the left you see the Not Rated for the US. Yet someone is trying to use the Canadian rating of PG to get into the database a rating of TV-PG.

First of all a Canadian rating of PG is not the same thing as the rating TV-PG. Secondly any rating for a profile for the US locality should not be going by the Canadian Rating. If someone out there in Canada locality wants the Canadian ratings they should create a Canadian profile. How hard is that when you have the US locality to go off of.

Rating: NR

But yet we have people voting yes to this.

Sorry for the rant... but needed to give a heads up on this. and hopefully some that voted yes will see this and change their votes.

Per Rules you must go with the rating on the case... it is the rating of the DVD Release we are after.

You should look at the rules once again... that is for the Rating Details... not the rating itself.

I have seen this happen as well, voted no, and explained that the contribution was 'wrong' because he was contributin a Canadian rating for an R1 US profile.  My PM was ignored and the contribution was accepted...which meant I had to go back and correct it.

Just so we are clear, and in hopes this stops happening, region specific details should never be contributed to profiles of other regions.  If it is a Canadian rating, it goes belongs in the R1 Canada profile, NOT the R1 US profile.

I did vote no... but this same user (won't post their name here of course) has been trying to get this rating in for a while now. Last time I was one of the first to vote... so others seen my no vote and voted no as well... unfortunately this time around others voted first... all yes votes. So I am hoping this thread will help put an end to this.

I already put the correction in (shortly after his contribution) because the current is wrong also... plus I worked on a couple more fields as well. Hopefully if his does go through it will be before mine does.

This is what I was trying to say... you just said it much better! 

I just can't see how even a Canadian PG = a TV-PG anyway... either way that would be wrong.

So far that is the case here as well... that is why I am a little concerned about it.

Unfortunately I haven't seen a change in any of the old yes votes.. but there is some more no votes now.
