I am having a problem with the profile for From Russia With Love, there is a credit for the character of Ernst Blofeld

now there are two actor who are in the existing profile
Quote:
Anthony Dawson as Ernst Stavros Blofeld (uncredited)
Eric Pohlmann as Ernst Stavros Blofeld (voice, uncredited)

have found some links confirming Eric Pohlmann was the voice of Blofeld have not look for Anthony Dawson yet but my question is should they remain as "Uncredited" or should i use the "Credited As"

Anthony Dawson [?] as Ernst Blofeld
Eric Pohlmann [?] as Ernst Blofeld (voice)

I would do the same. He *is* credited as "?".

Or, if both are not provable, you can just use the ? by itself.

You didn't think it would be that easy did you?

Pohlmann is mentioned as the voice of Blofeld at the bottom of you first link.?

I treat is as (uncredited) here, which is the way i think it should be done, and nobody is going to change that, no matter what goes with the Online. I can understand the logic for either approach, but (uncredited) seems to make more sense, because after all he ISN'T Credited is he.

It's a tough one but I would probably have them both as uncredited. The actor(s) who played/voiced Blofeld are not actually credited by name in the credits so following that they can not be entered as credited.

Yes, skip, I can understand the logic for either approach too. My preference for the "credited as" solution is to record that there *is* a credit on screen for that role, even if a peculiar one.

That is a good point and makes the most sense.

@EnryWiki: the ? would stay as the 'peculiar' credit, in addition to the Uncredited.

Exactly, it's a peculiar one in that no person is credited to it only an unknown. In my opinion we can't credited a specific actor where the credits don't.

Actually, thinking about it, I would go for this option.
After all, they are jointly credited for the role, it's just they are credited as "?". It seems a perfectly reasonable use for "credited as" to me.
Really, the only time we should use "uncredited" is if there was no credit for "Ernst Blofeld" at all.
It's a very similar situation in "Bride of Frankenstein" where, as well as a normal credit for playing Mary Shelley, Elsa Lanchester gets a "?" credit for playing the Bride.

PS My big book of Bond also informs me they did the same thing in Thunderball, but I don't have my copy to hand to check the actual credits.

My vote is with using the Credited As function.
The role is credited, but the studio decided to maintain an air of mystery by not using the actors' names.
There is more value in linking the "?" to the real actors, than there is entering a ficticious actor called "?".
Provided there is strong evidence to back up the linking, and in this case there is.

Now for something silly ....
If another movie used "?", how would we differentiate between the entries? BY?

I believe Frankenstein Monster is credited as "?" as well in "Frankenstein". Could be wrong about the movie but it's one of the monster legacy movies. Boris Karloff is the actual actor (I think  )

Only if you could provide documentation that the "?" in one film was a different "?" to the "?" in the other film! Screen grabs maybe?

He was credited as "?" in the opening credits, however the end credits list his name so for Profiler he can be listed as normal.
