| Posted: | | | | Hello all
I'm trying to create a new layout and am having some difficulty.
I think I'm being a bit dense so I thought I'd ask for help.
I really like aspects of a lot of layouts already available - especially the 'Showroom' layout by Trombomaniac.
I would like to create something similar but with my preference on HTML windows etc.
I've sent Trombo a PM but thought I'd come in here while I wait for a reply.
I would like to keep the tab format from the Showroom layout, eg. Cast and Crew as a single tab. But, I can't seem to get it so that I can create a tab-set along the bottom as in his profile. I also can't seem to position things the way they are in that profile. Am I doing something wrong?
I've even tried starting with the Showroom layout and then moving things around. For example: I wanted to swap the Overview window for the HTML Overview window. But when I closed the Overview everything else simply expanded to fill the void.
Has anyone in the community written a Layout Tutorial that I can access?
All help much appreciated.
IN ADDITION When I select Thumnail view for the Collection list....is there a way to amend what information is displayed when you hover over a thumbnail? | | | Last edited: by Pantheon |

| Posted: | | | | Here's how I would replace the Overview window:
Open up your new HTML Overview window and drag it over the top of the original window. You're aiming for the title bar at the top, but not too high. If you get it right, you should see the "Tabs" icon near to your mouse arrow. Once that is in place, you should have two, tabbed, Overview windows. Then simply switch the original window off using the View -> Windows menu.
If you want to create a new tab at the bottom you need to drag your new window down over the existing tabs. The whole Profiler screen should turn blue and you should get the "Tabs" icon again. Don't worry about getting the placement right as you can always drag it left or right once the new tab has been created.
To create a tab-set, start with one window as above, then start adding windows to it. Dragging the new window to the left, right, top or bottom of the existing window will dictate how it is positioned. Simply move your mouse around the screen and take note of how the icon changes. Also take note of the blue shaded areas as this tells you how much of your window will be affected. As you've noticed this will take some forethought as Profiler automatically resizes each window automatically to fill the whole window, therefore the order in which the windows are added will be important. Maybe planning it on paper first will help, so you can work out the best order. | | | Last edited: by northbloke |
