I've searched the forums but couldn't find anything about this.

I was wondering whether there is a way to access a user's history of watched movies. It's obviously being stored somewhere but can we get to the data???

Maybe export it to a csv file or even a built-in report ???

The collection list can be set up to include a column for 'last watched' but I don't believe that field can be used in a report ???

Does anyone know a way...

There may be an easier way... I am not sure... but if you go to Tools -->Options -->Users there is a history tab there.

Thanks (sorry for the delay, blame the holidays  ) but I knew about that tab.

But even if I wanted to print a simple list, I'd have to manually copy the list shown on that tab.  I'd hate to have to do that (my history goes back a few years) especially since the information is obviously available in electronic form

Unfortunately that is the only way I know how to access the user's history. Hopefully someone else knows something I don't know.

If you do not mind using another tool, you can import your Profiler XML file into my Cinematic Collection Viewer and then do SQL searches (Tools->SQL Query) on the data.
There are some SQL queries already available (File->Update->Other Data). Maybe there is already something in it for you.

If you need some help with some specific SQL queries, I am always willing to help (that goes for all). I am not an expert, but my knowledge is sufficient for the most stuff.

You can try my Database Query plugin.  It will let you see the watched history for individual users in your database.

However, when I just tested it, it looks as if all the watched history is gone for everyone but myself (the default user).  I suspect some beta somewhere along the line wiped that data out.  But that's just a guess.  Since I don't loan stuff frequently, I can't say for sure if that's how the data got wiped or how long ago it happened.  But I set a few things to Watched by other people and the plugin seems to handle it fine.
Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.

Thanks, I'm now trying to get to grips with your program, but using the "Last Watched Movies" Query, I managed to get a list of the movies and the watched dates. I could then export it to a txt file, import that in excel (to sort according to watched dated or title) and print out a simple list    Thanks a lot

Thanks  I managed to get a list to show, but couldn't find the 'last watched' field. So it was impossible to sort on dates. Also, I couldn't figure out how to simply print that list

I used Tom's Cinematic Collection Viewer and managed to get a simple print-out.

Thanks for the help though

In the next version I'm going to try to add Last Watched for a movie and perhaps all watched dates.  Doesn't help you now, but it look for it in the next version.

You can right click and copy the results then paste them into something like Excel.  I don't know if that would have been easier or harder than the solution you found, but there is a method to get the results printed.

Oh, please do include all watched dates as well.  It would then be possible to get my complete watched history from within DVD profiler using your plugin

Happy New Year
