I just totaled up the number of High Definition discs that I have purchased in the last seven and a half months since I went High definition and I was mildly surprised that between my HD DVD and more recent Blu Ray acquisitions I was over 150 HD titles.
To be precise I own 117 HD DVDs and 42 Blu Ray titles for a total to date of 159 titles.

I felt that this demanded the founding of a new club. HD collectors, come on in, cake and punch will be provided, but BYOB.

Ah, but did you count box sets that can't be profiled yet?  Also, do you count your total movies (ie: not counting box sets with multiple movies) or total profiles?

Counting movies only, I'm currently at 21 HD-DVD's and 65 Blu-Rays for 96 HD titles.  My wish list contains an additional 25 HD titles.

So I'm a little short for your club.  Honorary member?

I have 68 HD-DVD's and 97 Blu-Ray movies (Harry Potter box, Resident Evil Box and Spider-man Box seperate movies counted)

I still have 2 orders pending from dvd-pacific who were almost giving HD-DVD's away so i had to order some.

I counted the Harry Potter, Ultimate Matrix & Warner Best of HD Volume Three HD DVD box sets, as well as the Ocean's 11 12 13 Blu ray box set for their individual movies. Of those, only the Harry Potter movies cannot have their own profiles in the DB due to lack of UPC codes.

229 between both formats (1 count per movie in a box set, one count per TV set total). Although I've been following Paul's example of reaping HD DVD sales so that's gonna groooooow!

I thought I'd reap the HD-DVD sales too but I just can't bring myself to put forth any money into a platform that's slowly going to vanish.

Ah, I'm the opposite to that. I'm hanging onto the hardware for as long as I can forsee, so I figure I might as well get the discs for it to justify the investment, and before they're all second-hand.

I am doing the same thing. Besides, I still have my original RCA HD DVD Player, the LG HD DVD/Blu ray/DVD-RW combo drive in my computer and a shiny new LG BH200 combo stand-alone player (which kicks major-league tail BTW). I think I am covered for years to come.  I have been buying titles like The Valley of Elah, I Am Legend, The Assassination of Jesse James, The Brave One & Michael Clayton for less than half what their Blu Counterparts are going for...some for as little as $12.99 CAD.

I'm up to 77 between the two formats (Looks like 56 HD DVD and 21 Blu-ray).  Adjusting for my 3 HD DVD box sets, that's 74 profiles.  Minus the 3 TV sets, that's 52 HD DVD movies, 1 HD DVD TV set, 19 Blu-ray movies and 2 Blu-ray TV sets.  But I think I'll be ordering another Blue-ray movie today.

Congrats to you! I'm still livin' in the dvd stone age; no hd and no blue ray

But prices for blue ray hardware seems to decrease. So I can see the light!

Regretfully, I must protest the existence of this "club" as it directly threatens my marriage.

I have mentioned in other threads that there is always a concern that my wife may discover how many Blu-ray discs I have purchased. This puts me in the awful position of being a coward.

Now with the increased peer pressure brought on by a "club" such as this I am drawn to become a member but at the same time hate to say good-bye to my lovely wife of 35 years... To say I am conflicted is an understatement.

Unfortunately, you "elitists" won't let me be a member solely because my collection consists of a paltry 74 Blu-ray discs, (and 5 on order). I know that with time I will attain this lofty goal, but by sneaking new discs in when she is at work I always run the risk of being caught and lectured, which further increases my level of stress and the risk of being caught in a comprising position which could result in my being put on my wife's s**t list - a list which I normally try to avoid due to the associated repercussions.

Finally, I am not a coward! I am not afraid of my wife! (she doesn't read these forums).

I congratulate those that are married and not afraid to own in excess of 150 HD Discs. I salute those of you who are not married and own in excess of 150 HD Discs.

Some day I may be able to join you... (sigh)

I truely hope that you'all are taking advantage of the numerous sales I have posted in that other forum over there... no... over there.

I am at 180 with 17 or so on order, all Blu-ray.
