Hello,

unfortunately a search on this topic in the forum didn't bring any solution so I ask here:

How can I lock the sorting title of a DVD in my collection? I try to sort the content of boxes within the overall alphabetical order of my whole collection. Therefor I'd like to change some sorting titles and of corse save them from changes through updates. But it seems there is no "lock sorting title" kind of thing.

I'm thankful for any help

Kind Regards
Steve

Sort title = Local field is not lockable. If you refresh the profile you get the sort title from the first contributor.
The sort Title is only protected when you lock the whole DVD
right click on title and choose lock

As far as I understand your question, you are searching for something which is not necessary.

The sort title is only downloaded the first time you add a new profile. From then on it is never changed automatically. - Therefore it is locked automatically...

Um, Sorting title is a personal information, it's never overwritten by an update...

have to rephrase this see below remarks from pauls42 and AiAustria

when you blanc the sort title and then refresh it
DVD Profiler Menu: Online: Refresh DVD from Invelos: Refresh Profile Only
then the blanc sort title is overwritten or filled in.

Quoting Giga Wizard:

however it is overwritten when you refresh the profile:you can test this. put anything in the sort title.
now from the DVD Profiler menu: Online
refresh DVD from invelos
refresh profile only
result you are downloading the sort title if any was given the first time.

this isn't true.

The sort title is personal information. When the title changes the sort title does NOT change.

I've just checked again in case the last program update screwed it up but it hasn't.

I selected a profile that was going to be updated, changed the title & sort title to rubbish. Refreshed the profile and the title was put back to what it was originally. Sort title was left alone of course.

This is definitly not correct for Build 1171: neither the automatic profile update nor a manual (Online|Refresh DVD from Invelos|Refresh Profile only) affects the local sort title of a preexisting profile.

my mistake. If you blanc the Sort title field. And then refresh the profile you get a sort title.

OK, I wasn't aware of it, but this makes sense to me...
