South Park: The Complete First Season. (US)
Barcode on sticker on plastic wrap: 097368-801820
Barcode on sticker on case: 097368-801844
Barcode on case underneath the stickers: dunno.

Unless it is a special 'exclusive', I always disregard the upc on the shrink wrap.
Unless it comes off real easy, I use the sticker on the case.

Don't know if that helps, but there you go.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

I'd leave the shrink wrap one alone also, but either of the others (or even both if you want to contribute twice) would be fine for the DB. Although if you contribute both the scans should include the appropriate UPC for each profile. Maybe do one scan before removing the sticker and one after. Although again, that's a bit above-and-beyond, I can't say I've ever bothered myself.

BTW, I've just noticed that the profile contributed as 097368-801820 US in the online db... actually shows barcode 097368-801844 on the back cover image scan, same as the other profile contributed with that very same UPC.
It looks like someone took the UPC from the shrink wrap.
Deletion?

I'd leave it, as it's always possible that others will use the same barcode to add it to their database.
Remember, there is only a general agreement that we use the UPC on the cover if there is one on shrink-wrap too. There's nothing in the program or the rules to verify this, so we can't rely on everyone doing the same.
Technically it is a valid barcode for that DVD, so I can't think of any good reason to remove it.

Well, the reason to remove it could be that its UPC does not match the UPC in the scan...
Anyway, you are  probably right, better leave it.

Is this a re-issue?  My Season 1 has a UPC of 085393 763329 (Warner Home Video).  The UPC talked about here (Paramount) doesn't kick in for me until Season 3.
Gotta nip it in the bud, Andy!

Warner originally released S1, maybe S2 as well. After that the licence switched to Paramount somehow or other, who re-released the first two seasons and all those thereafter.

An UPC on the cover scan that does not match the UPC of the profile is no reason to delete the profile. It may be a reason to delete the cover images though. There are a lot of valid profiles in the database with a cover image from the wrong release.

Thanks for the info.  My Season 2 is also from Warner.

But anyhow, my belief is that the UPC on the image should match the UPC in the database.

Fair enough.

I guess the cover image is from that release, not from another release. The problem is that the profile's UPC is not the one you see on the case, it's taken from another barcode on the plastic wrap.

But what's the bets that if scans had been submitted with the shrink wrap intact, they'd have got no votes!
