I personally add 100 titles yesterday and will do another 100 today.., But after one day my databank for adding a new title is only 439 ( 1. USA/ Canada)  and if I click on the box for any regions etc. that number SHOOTS up to 1044...  HUH ??  There used to be 344,000 titles in there. Where did they all go?  Checking over the 1044 titles,, I can see my 100.. where are the rest?  Is anyone besides me and Skip  contributing titles.,  ??

I would have thought the data base would have 100,000 titles by today as the server is Busy is a constant reminder during the day.

There are currently 10,000+ R1 DVDs in the database and 15000+ DVDs total. There are about 6000 pending that need to processed.

How about plotting that one over time, old database = x years, new database = 1.5 days.

So I guess this is the part where Ken's been hearing from you something like: "Couldn't you have found a line of business with mentally sane costumers?! oh noooo Mr. Cole had to get himself with the profile submission maniacs!"

Amen to that. The "old" online db was bloated to the max. Too many entries from the past (no covers, no substantial data) or entries added before release only to be found having a different EAN/UPC upon release, etc. etc.

I have a workround if you dont wanna - like me - to register every missing DVD manually:

- Register the DVDs with your "old" (but working  ) Profile 2.x
- After finishing, export your Database
- Import only the DVDs you added in the 3.x
- And if - dont no when this happens    - the online connection is working, you can add them to the database too!

Right guys and gals?

Err no you can add them now. The online connection is just for the display of your collection online.

Submitting profiles is how you add them to the database and this is working. Having said that Ken has indicated the bug fixing of the servers means they are behind on processing submissions, but that he reckons they'll be done by the end of the weekend.

Same here. I spend way too much time removing bad profiles, than adding/improving good profiles.

But without getting more localities we'll have the same problem as in the old database, because people will contribute to wrong localities.
