Ihave used for several years the old DVD-Profiler and did not need the features of a registered Versiion. Therefore i only used the Free Version. After updating to the 3.0 Version i was suspected to read that you can't make a report (i only printed them to a pdf file) with more than 50 DVD`s. I don't need High Res Covers, Online Report and so on. I would only need to make a offline Report for my DVD collection to see which I bought.

Best Regards

Well, looks like now you do need the registered version.

As an answer for the subject line: Because!

It's quite simple: if you determine the programme is usefull just pay for it and you won't regret

Because then you'd have no reason to pay for the registered version.

I find it absolutely fascinating that so many people think Ken and Gerri are running some sort of non-profit charitable operation - to provide free software, free bandwith, free stuff for ever.

To those of you out there who feel you are entitled to use Profiler without paying for it as you've been doing for so many years, I say, BOO HOO.  You guys seem to have enough funds to buy DVDs but when it comes to paying for software you are using, suddenly you're too poor.

I think it's a major change -
some friends used dvdprofiler with the free registration - the have similar problems now.
In the past the reason for registration was only hires covers and no-banners - I registered with about 100 or more DVDs and used the program for free before. If you can get your features for free, why pay?!

But the answer to the subject is of course: Ken wants to earn some more money -
with dvdprofiler v3 there are many new features in the program and development goes on -
consider to buy it now to support the tool!

If it's only the report and you don't want to pay - perhaps you can use the xml-Export or the csv-Export-Plugin to generate your own external report...

The problem is... XML-export doesn't work either

Version 3.0 is a major rewrite and they also limited features so that you could TRY the software out to see if it's to your liking.

I see that you paid for the program.  You won't regret it.
