Why am I getting yelled at for following the rules?

I'm new here so I appologize if this isn't the right place for this.

Today I submitted cover scans for Bloodrayne: Unrated Director's Cut
http://www.invelos.com/Database.aspx?task=evaluate&id=290283

I'm getting a lot of no's which are all saying I should've scanned the slipcover, but I read the rules many times before submitting it, and here's why I scanned the inner cover. I quote from the rules:

"If a DVD is packaged in a keep case, within a slipcase of some kind, scan the Cover Images from the outer slipcase. If, however, the Slipcase is reflective, and the inner cover art is identical, use the Keep Case art to scan, as it will give a better quality image."

Since my slipcover is shiny/reflective, I scanned the inner cover like it says to do.
I just wanted to respond since I can't find a place on the submission page.

It's because the covers are not identical that you have to scan the outer slipcase cover instead of the inner cover. The slipcase cover is darker - this is particularly apparent in the clouds in the background if you compare the actual covers (although this isn't that clear from the existing front cover, which is a bit TOO dark.) The slipcase cover also has more picture info on the left hand side. Also, you can see that the 2 covers differ in the EAN area on the back, since the inner cover shows the "Proof of purchase" text.

Yelled at? I just checked the vote comments for your contribution and not a single comment there can be remotely construed as yelling. Most, if not all, were polite and to the point.

Maybe you were being yelled at for having the nerve to admit owning such a terrible, misguided, technically inept, embarrassing, stomach-churning, vile, ridiculous, awful, puny, miserable, unwatchable, barbaric, horrendous little movie.

Naaaaah, I'm JUST kidding...

No, really, I am...

Hey now, the movie was excellent along the lines of set location, set design, and costume design.

It was late when posting and "yelled" sounded close enough.
It just struck me odd that everyone said scan the outer cover which I didn't as I didn't think it would be clear enough, since it changes from bright to dark if you tilt it. I thought it fit the reflective rule, but if it doesn't, that's cool too.

Now, should I even bother to scan the slipcase? The one up isn't bad, just a bit too dark IMO.
Tell ya what, I'll try a quick scan this afternoon and if it doesn't look bad I'll resubmit.
I only got to this point as it was one of the scans that didn't instantly upgrade when I went Pro the other day (a few now use the full barcode...I'm sure everyone knows this) so I switched my really bad free version scan with something better for me to look at.

AS for the movie...

BigDaddy;

I do nearly ALL my own covers with few exceptions there are generally no Invelos covers in my local. I would scan the image and see how it comes out, if I think it's better I would submit, if I decide it doesn't make the cut I then decide whether it becomes and exception or I just retain it locally.

Skip

Word.

I just resubmitted the slipcover asa scanning it worked decent and with a few minutes in photoshop made it really nice.
Didn't mean to step on your toes Behemot, but it looks like your slipcover is different than mine. Mine is shiny/semireflective and embossed logo. The sky changes from light to dark if you tilt it left/right or up/down. I know it's the first version as I bought this the day it came out since I missed it in theaters.
I think newer slipcovers don't have the same shiny background.

It's there. I like it and will keep it, if you like it then vote it in.

Even if it's rotten cheese...

But seriously, I understand. I have some stinkers in my collection too that I tend to get attracted to once in a while (well, ok, yes, quite often). People often come over and just give me the look over certain titles...

But then again, some dear members of the opposite sex often raise an eyebrow at me after seeing some of my psychopath movies (for some reason I seem to own a significant number of titles that feature some sort of psycho character) next to some lovely (or is that 'loverly', get it, get it?  Yah, ok, bad joke) romantic comedies. I wonder what that says about me... I know, I'm peculiar like that.

Uhm, do we have a stinkers thread around here? (Yeah yeah, use the search function, my bad).

Anyway, I'm driving the thread away from the subject so, this comment doesn't actually exist, it's all in your mind, there's nothing to see. Move along.

Lucky my GF doesn't mind my psycho/sleaze/or porn collection.
This was a let down after the masterpiece that was House Of The Dead. That's the best worst movie ever IMO and turned me into an Uwephile, so I'll give anything he does a chance to regain that disasterful magic again! I know it's in him!

Since my newer scans weren't doing well I just withdrew the submission. No hard feelings but I'm keeping my scans in my local.

Glad to be a part of this and happy to meet all of you so far. I'll keep contributing if I can improve anything. Catch ya around.
