| Posted: | | | | Here are four banners, two for each format, to use in adding a banner to your HD cover scans. Since it seems the majority of the users want the banners, I figured I'd create a set for use. Each image is 500x60. After scanning in your cover, resize the scan to 500 pixels width then increase the canvas size to include a 60 pixel high area above the scan and then paste in the banner of your choice. Right-click on the image to save it to your computer. Blu-RayHD-DVDFrom my downloaded covers, nothing is over 500 pixels wide so I figure the contribution process resizes to 500. When deciding between 50 and 60 pixels for the height, the majority of my HD covers had a 60 pixel high banner so I went with that. Now it's time for me to scan in new covers for 14 movies to get rid of the awful full-case scans. Feel free to post your own banners! | | | Last edited: by Dr. Killpatient |

| Posted: | | | | Agreed. I don't see why the banner would be included at all (no I don't consider it important for distinction in online collection viewing), but a standardised one like this is just inaccuracy squared. |

Totally agree. It is not part of the coverart which is removable for scanning just like keepcases. | | | Hal |

| Posted: | | | | If you want to go ahead with this, we'll need a banner for the HD-DVD Combo discs too. I don't like the full case scan either and I'd like a visual confirmation of a HD edition. But I'm not sure about altering a scan... it just feel artificial. Thanks for the effort, I'm sure it's appreciated. |

| Posted: | | | | Sorry, but I've got to agree. Even if it's decided that the banner should remain on the scan (and I'm not fussed either way) under no circumstances should we be adding fake banners to scans! I'd rather have no banner at all. |

| Posted: | | | | Excuse me people, you are perhaps all out to lunch, it looks to me like all he did was create a scan of that specific area , which allowed him to focus on it and make it look as good as he possibly could. Having seen what the banner cann look like when it is scanned in conjunction with a given cover it looks like a perfectly rational concept. As to hal and nadja, I believe inb several discussions dating back to IVS and here everytime this topic comes out it has been decided that the users want to use the banner. So... I guess you are free to do as you wish and even submit without the banner but from what I have seen I gather majority of voters would say NO.

| Posted: | | | | I have to admit, I also remember a poll about this topic, and the majority of votes was to have the banners included. Unfortunately I tried searching for it, but couldn't find it. |

Simple I have read all the variety of topics that this has come up in dating back to the institution of the interim solution at IVS. Now if you would like to try again with yet another poll, be my guest. But the results of every discussion have always been the same. but then we had a Vice president who insisted on recounting votes to try and get his result too, so nothing here surprises me.

When Ken says "no imdb", but 90% of the users want to use imdb, so what are we supposed to do? What the majority wants? No way. Ken is the ONLY one who can give a new rule, so better skip this idea with using banners until Ken allows it officially. | | | Last edited: by SpaceFreakMicha |
