| Posted: | | | | Hi everybody,
I have two DVDs where the covers in my online collection are the "official" ones and not the ones I have locked in my local database. Does anybody know why this could be?
Thank you very much Uwe | | | |

It also could be a variant type cover, like Sin City or Resevoir Dogs. As I say, if you give us some more info we can help figure it out |

I know I might not have the 1st edition DVDs, so my DVD-covers are not official for DVDPro, but as far as I understand I should be able to use them for my online collection. Am I wrong?

| Posted: | | | | yes... you are wrong. Sorry. The only covers you get with your collection are the ones that are part of the master database.
Even if you lock your covers they will not show up online.
Right now the only way to have your own covers is to host you collection on your own. |

Uwe If memory serves me correctly your online collection takes its covers from the main online database. So if joe bloggs has submitted a cover that is not the same as yours his cover will be the one used for everybody who has that EAN /UPC when they view their collection via the online database. Your own covers are just that your own LOCAL covers. Steve |

| Posted: | | | | When this version of the online db was built, either because there was no option on submitting the cover scan, the cover are automatically sent, or though ignorance, a lot of early online db entries do not have the original covers, You have to determine if you have an original covers. Usually the release date will be different. I have corrected some these as I find them. | | | We don't need stinkin' IMDB's errors, we make our own. Ineptocracy, You got to love it. lyonsden5: You mentioned something about hosting the collection myself. Can you help me with this? | | | |

| Posted: | | | | Snarbo is correct. I just verified that the online collection uses the online cover and not what you have locally (same or different). |

You will need a webhost offering you MySQL and PHP. In the before-mentioned forum there is a thread about a few free hosts which will work. | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan.
