Not sure if there's any other Jericho fans here, but there's a massive movement underway to save the show from cancellation, including petitions, letters, phone calls to CBS executives, and best of all, people sending packages of nuts (a reference to the season finale) to CBS headquarters.

http://www.nutsonline.com/gifts/jericho.html

So far, three and a half tons of nuts have been ordered.

The head of the movement is at the CBS message boards for Jericho, and at JerichoLives.com. Articles have been popping up around the internet and in the LA Times and New York Post, and PWInsider and 1wrestling.com have done stories on it as well.

Anyway, if you're a fan, consider checking out those sites, and helping the cause.
"I am Andrew Ryan and I am here to ask you a question:
Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his own brow?

No, says the man in Washington. It belongs to the poor.
No, says the man in the Vatican. It belongs to God.
No, says the man in Moscow. It belongs to everyone.

I rejected those answers. Instead, I chose something
different. I chose the impossible. I chose…
Rapture."

I don't think this will change CBS' attitude towards Jericho. It's only chance is to be picked up by another network. But this will never happen for obvious reasons.

However, I've ordered some nuts anyways, I like this idea

I'm a fan, but I don't see the point.  The actors aren't going to wait around hoping to be un-canceled.  They're going to do their best to find a new job (as they should).  So even if it does work, it will be hard to reassemble the cast and creative minds.

But I still hope.  Maybe a movie or something.

The contracts don't expire until June 15...everyone involved is pretty much declaring that the deadline for us to make a difference.

5-6 cast members (Hawkins (Lennie James), Bonnie (ShoShannah Stern), Stanley (Brad Beyer), Eric (Kenneth Mitchell), Mayor Gray Anderson (Michael Gaston), Mimi (Alicia Coppola), one of the lesser characters from New Bern whose name escapes me) have posted their support, as well as one of the writers of the series.

I should also mention this post, confirmed by CBS representatives to be from CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler (this was posted before the NUTS campaign began):

Quote:
To the fans of Jericho:

We have read your emails over the past few days and have been touched by the depth and passion with which you have expressed your disappointment. Please know that canceling a television series is a very difficult decision. Hundreds of people at the Network, the production company and the incredibly-talented creative team worked very hard to build and serve the community for this show -- both on-air and online. It is a show we loved too.

Thank you for supporting Jericho with such passion. We truly appreciate the commitment you made to the series and we are humbled by your disappointment. In the coming weeks, we hope to develop a way to provide closure to the compelling drama that was the Jericho story.

Sincerely,

Nina Tassler, President of CBS Entertainment

Jericho was renewed today.

Seven episode order for next season with options for more.

I've seen many a campaign to revive a show afer cancellation... They're all over the network forums.  And I have never seen one actually work.  I am almost in denial the it was the public campaign that actually made it happen at all.  I am very tempted the believe that it was some inner-network workings.

The stupid producers won't use this as a chance to bring closure to the series, they'll use this as a start for another renewal after that.
Idiots.

Series' dead for me, it'll never get a proper ending this way.

EDIT
Source for my ranting:

As far as extending the number of episodes, eight would not be enough for Jericho producer and creator Carol Barbee, according to the Los Angeles Times.

"The idea would not be to bring it for eight and out, but to bring it back for eight with the hope that it would keep going," Barbee told the LA Times. "They're making deals with the actors and there's other logistical stuff to work out too. Swingtown was supposed to take over the same stages so it's a lot about the logistics of how to work out a schedule that works for all of us."

The best part of the renewal was the letter sent to fans from CBS.....

it ended like this:

Sincerely,

Nina Tassler

President, CBS Entertainment

P.S. Please stop sending us nuts

They didn't renew it with closure in mind. CBS wants the series to continue.

No they don't. They only had an option for further episodes after that.
An even if they re-renew the series, the mid-season break will kill the series again, just like it did in the first season.

CBS is working with the producers and the leaders of the movement to make sure the show sticks around this time. Trust me on this.

I don't honestly believe that CBS would bring this back for 7 episodes just to make the fans of the show happy.  If they didn't think there's a remote chance that this will spark a revival in the show and open the door for more episodes past the 7, they wouldn't be wasting thier time and money
