I had heard about this before and while I agree it can be done, I still tend to correct myself as I go along and will generally notice spelling mistakes and typos  . The mind seems to focus on patterns, but our consciousness tries to apply too much meaning. I'm terrible at remembering a number for a short time, but I've come to know all six of my email account passwords (senseless alpha-numeric) by the patterns. Also, it used to take me ages to enter a Windows license code! As an experiment, I started to force myself to only glance at the current block of five characters for a millisecond. I don't "know" the sequence, but I get it right almost all the time when I don't try to remember it specifically. It never ceases to amaze me ... ... Look, I get bored entering Office codes, ok?  I heard a tip years ago from a newspaper picture editor that I often use. Brilliant for Spot the Difference competitions! When comparing two photographs that are look the same, but you want the better one, simply turn them upside down. Your mind can no longer assume what the shapes are and naturally picks out differences. | | | Jon
