I'm adding a 3rd Tom Wilson. This one is the creator of the Ziggy comics and probably is only listed in one dvd, Ziggy's Gift. It has been accepted into the database (UPC: 066805-307218).
His BY is 1931. Tom Wilson's BY 1931.

Not true, I've had previously accepted BYs removed before when it's been shown there's no need for one.
I agree. If they're not required, then they're not allowed per the rules, and they should be removed. I've succeeded in doing so many times. For instance: somehow Samuel L. Jackson's birth year made it into the "accepted" list. It is, however, not necessary, and should be removed. Tom Everett (1948) is still in the Mainbase with his (invalid) BY. So BY is not yet removed and placed on the mainlist on page 1. No checkbox appearance with the consequense that submission is still possible. Could it be possible to clear this up. I actually believe this is an IMDb-error, and that the three alledged credits for this "Don Davis" actually all belong to Don S. Davis. For at least two of these three credits, there are multiple sources that confirm my suspicion. I'll give some examples:
- TV.com for the 'Amazing Stories' credit: http://www.tv.com/amazing-stories/fine-tuning/episode/69845/summary.html?tag=ep_guide;summary
- Fandango.com for the 'Bull Durham' credit: http://www.fandango.com/dons.davis/filmography/p86888
I couldn't find any such references for 'The Girl Who Spelled Freedom', but that one isn't even in the database, so it doesn't matter. Maybe someone can watch 'Bull Durham' and that 'Amazing Stories'-episode to visually confirm whether that's actually Don S. Davis. If it is, then as of yet, there's no need to attach a birth year to the composer.

In the credits, yes, I never doubted that for a moment, but I was asking: who do you see in the film? Is the actor you see on the screen actually Don S. Davis or not? The question I'm trying to ask is whether this is "Don S. Davis, credited as Don Davis", or whether this is an entirely different actor named Don Davis. So I wasn't looking for the credit, I was looking for someone who just watched the film and maybe recognized the "Scared Butter" as being Don S. Davis. Was this ever sorted as to whether this BY is required |
