| Posted: | | | | Some changes to the original anouncement have been made: - Restriction on edits within 48 hours has been removed. - Posts may be rated within 72 hours of original post, or within 72 hours of the last edit to the post. - Once posts are edited by an administrator, they may no longer be rated. This system will roll out this week, so be on your best behavior - the posts you make now may soon be rated. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative |

| Posted: | | | | Let's see if I get this straight; If someone post something which is not very nice and we rate that as bad, he/she could correct his/her post within 3 days and then we are able to rate that again within 3 days. | | | Martin Zuidervliet

| Posted: | | | | The edit limit is removed, so instead:
Someone posts, you can rate good/bad within three days. Later (maybe weeks later), the original poster edits the post. The original ratings stand, but you again have a chance to rate the post within next the three days.
Only one rating per person per post can be made, regardless of edit. You can, however, choose to remove or change your rating, within three days of the post or edit. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative | | | Last edited: by Ken Cole |

| Posted: | | | | Do the original ratings "go away" once the poster edits their original post?
If not it would be a little confusing if a negative rating is sitting there on a post that has been edited to remove the offensive parts. It might even look like an abusive negative mark.
The original "marks" probably need to be reset once the post is edited, but your tracking system should keep track of the fact that the "negative" marks were given in the first place. | | | Hal | | | Last edited: by hal9g |

| Posted: | | | | How will banning work? Let's say I post something very innocent in my eyes. But it turns out others are offended by it. So I immediately get a whole bunch of negative marks. If I get enough, will I immediately be banned (assuming I started out neutral)? If so, how would I correct my post so not to offend? Or would a ton of bad marks just bump me up to the next level?
I'm not really clear on the process here. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

| Posted: | | | | Yes, it's theoretically possible to receive so many negative votes on a single post that your account falls into restriction. And it's theoretically possible that the post that offended so many was not intended as offensive. Further, it's theoretically possible that the invelos admin agrees that the post is offensive and lets the ratings stand.
If all of that happens, you can pm an admin and state your case. PMs are not restricted, nor are support tickets. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative |

| Posted: | | | | Just so I get it clear in my head, once this begins should we stop pulling users for abusive posts and let our ratings do all the work? Or should we continue to ask people to moderate their posts? |

Or should we continue to ask people to moderate their posts? This is just my opinion, but it seems to me that 75% of the problems around here comes from users asking other users to behave. I say just let the ratings do the work. Anyone who can't behave will soon learn or lose the ability to misbehave. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.
