Minor suggestion for the app:

By default include a ".nomedia" stub in the droid_dvdp map, to avoid having 15,000+ images in the Gallery on the Android device.

What do you mean by .nomedia stub ? I dont unserstand 'stub'.

Thanx

Just create a file named ".nomedia".

I used stub for a file with no content (zero length). The dot at the start makes it a hidden file, so don't look for it afterwards.

I've tried and it works fine. The file can be seen when device mounted as usb disk with windows explorer, but on the device the file is not show with ES explorer (I know you told it is invisible). How can I show it if I want to remove it (without windows explorer) ?

There is a setting to show hidden files. Press Menu -> Settings -> File Settings and you should find the Show hidden files.

Or you can use a free app called StudioKUMA .nomedia Manager.

Hello everybody,

First, I wish to you all an happy new year 2012 !
And thanks to Olivier for a great android application.

I have downloaded yesterday evening the last release of both the android application and the export plug-in.
I own an android tablet Galaxy tab 10.1 and I am having issues with the plug-in not recognizing it.

1- Use “ADB” : The plug-in does not find the device.

2- Use “Removable Disk” : Even though I did point to the right file with the “…” button, the plug-in did not find my device.

3- Use “Manual Copy” : This worked fine. I transferred manually the properly created DB file to the correct directory in the tablet along with the images and thumbnail files.

I transferred about 15 films to the tablet with the manual option and the app worked OK.

The only problem remaining is the automatic export and tablet recognition.
I read all the posts in this topic and also the ones on Olivier’s site, but I am not sure I understood all of it.

Maybe another tablet owner (Staid S Barr ?) has found a solution and could write a short tuto how he did it with his tablet ?

I have some screen shots and also a log but I do not know how to post them.

Thanks for your help.

I've read some stuff about tablets guys, and it doesn't seem obvious.

There are MTP and PTP, or via ftp. But as I have no tablet to develop, I'm waiting for you suggestions on how to copy stuff on those devices...

Windows 7 Ultimate

OK. First you need to get to a command prompt. Either in you accessories folder OR cmd>enter in the search section of the Start Menu.

You should get a "DOS box".    Type cd\ enter . You should be at C:>

Type ping space www.olivier-detry.be (not the word space, just leave the space). Watch your results.  You should get a list of a DNS number and times. Usually 4 tries. If nothing is unusually long, it means you computer can reach Oliver's site.

Run ping oliver-detry.be >ping.txt that SHOULD create a text file with results in it. Open the file and post the results here.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Traceroute:

at C:>tracert  oliver-detry.be  >traceroute.txt . When posting these results, the first couple of sets of DNS numbers are YOUR internet address.  XXX  those numbers out.  Leave the times, and number of hops.
You don't want to compromise your ID or security on the net.

Hopefully this information will be able to tell us something more about what is going on. Mainly if it's a network issue vs. a browser issue.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the help, couldn't reply sooner. I'm sending you the results via PM so as not to clutter the forum with my issue.

Meanwhile, I would be very grateful if someone can PM the link for new version outside of Olivier's site: skydrive or any other...

Thanks, and sorry to bother you all with this issue.

I successfully transfered manually my collection (DB + images) to my Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet.

The images overlap and scrolling is a bit slow and jerky, but it works.
A promising application indeed !
