| Posted: | | | | I bought my first DVD somewhere in the fall of 2002 after getting a DVD rom. It was Crimson Tide in a for 9,99 EUR if I'm not mistaken. I still have it and it's sitting at nr. 1 in my collection. Even though I bought an extended of Crimson Tide this summer (still have to discover what is extended about it) I will not part with the original as it's my first DVD ever. |

| Posted: | | | | My love of movies started when my Dad bought one of the first Sony BetaMax's? Remember those? Then it was VHS back in 1975. I used to have a catalog of over 3,000 VHS movies. After that collection was stolen, I gave up collecting movies. Then on December 15 of 2003, I won my first DVD, a copy of Tron: 20th Anniversary Edition from a local mall contest. It was a sign from God that I should collect again. I've had an Oscars Party for the past 23 years. Movies are the ultimate high. | | | Geosnoopy75 | | | Last edited: by Geosnoopy |

Some people think football [and soccer] is a matter of life and death.... I can assure them it is much more serious than that. |

I STILL CAN'T REMEMBER!? i think my brain is turning to mush.... I feel your pain. I was watching DVD's as soon as Blockbuster started renting them but I can't recall what was my actual first purchase. | | | Last edited: by Dr. Killpatient |

| Posted: | | | | I remember it was a cold, snowy day in Anchorage, Alaska, in 1997. With money I really didn't have to spend, I went to Costco and bought a DVD Player and pretty much the only two movies they had in stock: The Running Man and Two Days in the Valley. When I think back to those days, with my 20" color TV and non-surround sound, it fills me with a sort of melancholy for a life less complicated. But on that day, I realized that I had already bout my last crap-vision VHS Tape and realized that I would have to start replacing them with DVDs... as well as keep up with the current releases. Since then, I've upgraded to the 50" Plasma HDTV and cool-guy theater sound system and dear God, I could never go back. Now, as I harken back, I realize that I have come back again: Almost a year ago I bought my first HD DVD player along with my very first HD DVD, Serenity, (and yes, it was HD DVD and not Blu-Ray) and I realize that that I will have to start replacing my DVDs with HD... as well as keep up with the new releases. Ahh, but it's a burden most of us share and I, for one, appreciate the many travelers that share the same path as I. Now if I can just figure out how to pay for it all... | | | Last edited: by area51va |
