You ask: is parsing a problem? Yes, it's a huge problem, because this poll says that 22 people will enter Annie / Guerard / Rodgers but 11 people will enter Annie / Guerard Rodgers. What a non linking mess!
And this is a case we are discussing in the forums and trying to document. Think of all the obscure actors that are entered by any user!  Most users will just enter what seems right to them, with different interpretations,  and the main database will always be a mess.

The better choice might be for Ken to have the program ignore parsing when it comes to linking...though I don't know if that is even possible.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

All right, since no one else seems to have asked her directly, I will.  Stay tuned (and please, no one else ask her so she doesn't feel like she has a horde of Invelosians stalking her!)

EDIT: Email sent directly to Ms. Rodgers/Guerard Rodgers.  I will post back if/when I hear from her, though I expect she's a busy, busy person.

Are we going to make a poll for every three-piece name? And will all users accept the results of the poll? Is that even in the rules?

Three-piece names will always be a problem. For sorting reasons you have to know where begins family name. No escape possible.

How often would I need to alphabetically sort my cast and crew?

Never.

How often do I wonder how an actor is credited in a film?

Never.

How often do I check to see what other film certain actor or crew was in?

All the time.

Proper linking is a key function for any database and our current system sucks egg when it comes to linking.  Endless debate about parsing names and common names will not solve this fatal flaw.

Bully for you.  On the other hand, I am constantly sorting and resorting cast and crew names, and I probably check what other films certain actors or crew were in a dozen times a day.  This shouldn't be an either/or dichotomy.  There has to be a way to make this work for everyone.

The proper way to fix this has been proposed by many people, some who vehemently oppose each other philosophically.

Aggie/Guerard/Rodgers = Aggie//Guerard Rodgers = Aggie / Sue / Guerard = Aggie / S. / Guerard Rodgers = Aggie // Rodgers , etc., etc.,

I know linking like this is done elsewhere, so I don't understand why it can't be done here.  But until such linking IS implemented, we're going to constantly face these arguments.
