Personally, I'd only be interested in Brian Cox (who, incidentally, will need a birth year).

Only the SEAs should be removed, Special Effects credits should stray, after all the Rules say specifically Special Effects.

The data is INCORRECT even if it is correct!

How convoluted is that?

And you claim to be worried about data accuracy???

Special Effects are NOT Special Effects Assistants:

Personal opinions aside, anyone listed with a valid profiler credit can be entered in the profile.  If someone doesn't like them, they should remove them from their local db ONLY.

Agreed.  There was discussion here somewhere about limiting it to the supervisors, but that never made it to the rules, so they're valid credits.

Skip,

Please pay attention to what people are posting before you respond.

My post had absolutely nothing to do with the Special Effects Assistant credit.

Your post, that I quoted, was posted long before the SEA credit even came up!

Sorry, Skip

But this has to be the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen in print!!!!

If something is correct then that's it. Period.

Something that's correct CANNOT be incorrect as well.

Your stance on this issue is another hammer in the coffin for me. It's just another reason to stop contributing to a rapidly declining database; and instead keep my local database safe. Basically I'm bordering on letting all of you stew in your own bile.

And...before you jump on me about this...I'm all for keeping bad data out of the database. I just totally disagree with removing good data.

I have noticed on new submissions that many of the 'crew' data I was adding (from the credits evidently) were removed once accepted (I am assuming by the good people who approve for the last time the contribution - before all of the rest can amend or download them)... so my lesson learned, on new contribution is to put as little as possible on the 'crew' side of thing and maximizing the cast as much as possible (again from the credits )

The problem isn't you, the problem is the person that contributed after you did.  They should have made sure that the data they submitted didn't 'accidentaly' remove good data from a pending contribution.  I do, however, understadn your frustration with this.

It would be nice when submitting if you could be warned if there any other pending updates.
Currently you only see the latest accepted profile when submitting, so the average user may not realise that there is another update currently in the queue.
If a pop-up came up saying something like: "Warning - there is already an update currently pending for this profile, please check your submission", a lot of the data over-writing could be avoided.
Either that or Ken only allows one pending update at a time, and you can't submit another until that one's gone through the system.

What some people need to know is that some data can be incorrect even though they match the credited as roles of the rules and they can be correct while they don't. Sadly, it's not exact science and you need to have seen hundreds of credit listings to fully understand them.
