If you refer to booklets with (promotional) information related to the DVD, they belong to the section Other Features, just as unrelated advertising trash-trailers do not belong to Features.

Let's make a poll.

You'd lose.

Lose what? Nobody here would be so childish to give his vote in such a silly poll.

See part I put in bold...
If there is a trailer on the disc... it does belong in the features. Whether you like it or not. It says so right in the rules. Which these trash flyers and advertisement booklets are not in the rules. So whether you like the unrelated trailers or not the trailer box gets checked in profiler.

Rules quote:
Quote:
Trailers:  Theatrical Trailers for the main feature or other films.
TV Spots for the main feature or other films.

see where I put in bold.

before you say it. These trailers are covered in the rules so the choice is not ours to make. Your Promotional Flyers/booklets are not covered in the rules. (which maybe they should be covered to omit them per rules going by this poll)...

So yes technically for these promotional flyers/booklets you can use your personal preference and submit them to the online as an other feature. But at the same time that means others has just as much right to use their personal preference to vote no if they do not want them in there.

I understand that perfectly well, Addicted2DVD.

Trailers (section Features) are officially accepted, even when they are unrelated merchandising. Then booklets, which are generally not unaccepted (section Other Features), cannot be rejected with the dummy argument merchandising content would discount common sense.

It does not seem logical.

My guess would be because a large number of people instantly throw those advertisements away when they open their DVD for the first time. So if it is something that we normally don't keep anyway... why would we want it noted in the profile?

An omission rule is fortunately not that nescessary. 117 / 4 poll result shows common sense prevailed in this case

Maybe so... but all that does is show an overwhelming opinion on the matter. Does not mean anything other then that. He (or anyone else... especially if they do not frequent the forums) can add it to a profile within the rules as it is not covered in the rules.

In other words Polls don't equal a Rule only Ken/Geri's statement or an addition to the rules can do that.

But an ad specifically for a DVD is neither a theatrical trailer nor a TV spot.  It's just an ad, and as such doesn't get on the list for features, per the rules.
