If I contribute a norwegian release of Ice Age, I'm only including norwegian voice cast, so this should not overwrite any danish voice cast, in the danish release. I thought credited dubbing cast was independent of the released locality, because no where in the rules does it say they should match. For example you could include the JAPANESE CAST even if the release is from the US. | | | Martin Zuidervliet

And I've also seen this from other localities. |

Yes, I think so too. But I only include the voice-overs for my locality, or at least I have done so far. And I've also seen this from other localities. I think it would depend upon the cast on the disc. I mean, I'm not going to include the Japanese cast on my Fox release of My Neighbor Totoro because they're not included on the release. So if there was a release of Ice Age with only the Norwegian dub cast, then I wouldn't include the English cast. | | | If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. -- Thorin Oakenshield |

I can understand the differences between localities, but what about within 1 locality. I know that there are a lot of movies with multiple releases at one time, then a number of rereleases.
Aside from some of the special ones that have additional restoration crews, is there much difference between cast and crew within the release for say US releases? |

| Posted: | | | | What I'm talking about is films for children, containing english cast, but also local voice-over. Here I enter the entire english cast, but also the norwegian voice-overs. So far I've not included the danish, finish and sweedish voice-overs as these are not interresting to most people owning the norwegian release, though still included on the same disc, as this disc often is common for Scandinavia. |

| Posted: | | | | Although this is not specifically mentioned in the rules I agree with Gemini76 that we should only include the dubbing cast who uses a language which is spoken in the matching profile or else we could add 1 to 7 different foreign cast lists beneath the original and/or local cast (the maximum is 8 audio tracks). | | | Martin Zuidervliet

| Posted: | | | | Well, I'm not saying we shouldn't, just that I don't. But I add all the audio tracks, usually up to 4 or 5.
What I was saying was that if I was to contribute to all released with this disc, I could end up deleting danish casts for the danish release, if I didn't include them as well.
This shouldn't be a big problem, as you'll see what is there allready, when you're contributing. |

Before I did the profile for all countries in those common features like from Nordisk Film and likewise and contributed them (not spesific cast for animated though) but then I was told that this was against the rules as there should be only one language in overview so I stopped... actually I cant see the problem with this as all languages are present and can't take any more space than the back of the cover anyway... didn't saw the problem then and not now. | | | We are all at the same age, only at different time... |

Yes, in the overview I also only add the laguage for the country I'm creating the profile for. But I have seen one containing all of them. Here's what the rules say about it: Quote: For multi-language cases, use only the language of the DVDs locality. |

Skip, are there really films (I am excluding animes with different voice actors), who have different credits at the end ? Is this even possible ?
I am just curious.

greets Donnie I'm not Skip, nor will I ever claim to be, but I do recall a thread at one point that was showing different credits for actors between the same movie from different regions/continents. Think it was "The Rock" but can't find anything with search (that's someones cue to find it ). So it is very rare, but it is possible and has been done. For this reason I double check anything I have 2 different versions of just in case. Of course everything I've double checked has been indentical, but that's because the changes are rare. |

| Posted: | | | | Yeah, I know it happens. The R1 and R2 versions of HERCULES UNCHAINED have different credits, and there are some others though the names of them escape me at the moment. I expect there are different prints made for different territories, and differences creep in, especially in older films. | | | "This movie has warped my fragile little mind." |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks for that, tweeter. I can remember the discovery, but I can't say I recall the specific title which I uncovered, that had different credits, but it does represent a problem that we all need to be aware of and therefore when we clone a profile we should always verify the cloned data against the Actual credits, and include a brief comment that the data was cloned and verified against the ACTUAL credits in our notes.
It is rare to be sure, but not so rare that it did not take very long a year ago or so, to uncover, I would guess somewhere between 1% and 5% of the titles might have this issue.
