| Posted: | | | | No, most of the details I updated the other day are things I don't care much about. I like to track what I have and when I watched it. Other things like correctly linking actors or knowing something is color and 2D are less important to me. Glad I have that data now. But it was just never important enough in the past to justify the effort. But with the new comparison screen, it wasn't too bad. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. The current version of the plugin runs just fine in Win7 x64, and at worst you have to uninstall it if Mark releases a new version. | | | If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

I can click the error away and the plugin shows up, but it pretty much stalls the program and I have to kill the whole thing and relaunch.
Same problem here. I'm running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit. .NET Framework 2.0 installation doesn't fix the problem. | | | Last edited: by Kulju |

| Posted: | | | | I have .NET Framework 4 installed and it does not matter; this crash with this type of error keeps happening.
Point is, the error says it can't find a file but doesn't say which one it is missing. Now it can be some obscure system file in or outside the .NET Framework or... The database query folder of my plugins for DVD profiler contains just 3 files: DatabaseQuery.dll DatabaseQuery.tlb DVDProfilerControls.dll Now is that what is should be or should this plug-in, wherever it may be, have installed or generated more? | | | Eric

That's what the error message says. But I thought it was built-in on at least Windows 8.
Here's the link anyway: http://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=17718 Quoting Blair: Quote: I don't know about Windows 8, but all Windows 7 versions come with .Net Framework 2 and 3 pre-installed. When I understand the message correctly, the file missing is "system.dll" in .NET Framework 4. But in the end that file is not missing on my system. I got this error on Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit, too. Installed all frameworks without success. Edit: Some more infomation: This happens right after installation of the plugin. The error shows up, the moment I try to use this plugin. After that, there's no way to close the plugin-window - I'll have to kill DVD Profiler. That's on my new system: Intel Core i5, 16GB. My old system (the Win7 machine) was an Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB. | | | | | | Last edited: by StaNDarD |

| Posted: | | | | I investicated this issue some more. It seems that this plugin uses .NET Framework 2.0 which isn't installed by default to Windows 8. You cannot even install this plugin without .NET Framework 2.0, so first you must enable .NET Framework 3.5 (which includes 2.0 & 3.0) from windows features . Instructions: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh506443.aspx If you have installed any Language Packs before this installation, it will fail with error message: "0x800f0906: “Windows couldn't connect to the Internet to download necessary files. Make sure that you're connected to the Internet, and click Retry to try again.”" This happens even if your Internet connection works fine. There is another option in situation like this: You can enable the .NET Framework 3.5 by using the Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) command-line tool and specifying the installation media (ISO image or DVD) you installed Windows 8 from. 1. In Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012, open a Command Prompt window with administrative credentials (that is, choose Run as administrator). 2. To install the .NET Framework 3.5 from installation media located in the D:\sources\sxs directory, use the following command: DISM /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:NetFx3 /All /LimitAccess /Source:d:\sources\sxs ?Use /All to enable all parent features of the .NET Framework 3.5. ?Use /LimitAccess to prevent DISM from contacting Windows Update. ?Use /Source to specify the location of the files needed to restore the feature. I would recommend to run this command without /All switch. So, correct command is: DISM /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:NetFx3 /LimitAccess /Source:d:\sources\sxs Now that I managed to install this plugin, I wanted to test if this was an ACL issue. Unfortunately it's not. Same results with running this plugin as an Administrator as with normal user rights. This issue must have something to do how Win 7 and Win 8 handles .NET Framework 2.0 which isn't natively supported. At the moment I don't believe that it's possible to make this plugin work on Win 7&8 (32 and 64-bit) before Mark does something about it. It's a shame since Windows 7 was released 3,5 years ago and I personally feel that this is one of the best plugins ever written to DVDP. Mark, if you have any spare time and/or intrest could you please update this plugin using .NET Framework 4.0 which is by default installed to both, Win 7 and Win 8. I miss my Database Query plugin |
