But more impoprtant;y ray, I could see a very real legal made by Paramount that could shut down production of these privately made films, using Profiler as evidence, this could result in these "Studios" being forced to shut down...is that what you want Ray.

Are you a failed Law student or something? It perplexes me, every argument you enter into turns into an ad hoc interpretation of punitive law.

For Alien, I wouldn't want bet on Paramount or any other Studio not watching Profiler, perhaps even as users, quite the contrary. After all what better place to get afeel for what people want to see than a world wide database with in excess of 400,000, do they have their legal departments watching us, I don't know...maybe...maybe not. I certainly wouldn't bet against it. Were I a Studio exec...I would, at least from time to time.

Ah, but the strawberries! That's, that's where I had them. They laughed at me and made jokes, but I proved beyond the shadow of a doubt, and with, with geometric logic, that, that a duplicate key to the wardroom icebox did exist.

No, Antares I am not but I am very careful and I don't gamble if I can't afford to lose. I "can't" afford to lose these outside Star Trek productions, I enjoy them and I would hate to see any of them shut down because of something that this Community did.

You can insult me and berate all you wish, Antares, but I am not a big risk taker. I don't jump out of perfectly good airplanes, lol. I hqave seen websites shut down, that had MANY users, simply because they refused to pay heed to such things as potential legal scuffles with a copyright owner. I would like to think the likelihood of any action would small because it might present a PR nightmare for them, but I don't have access into the inner workings of the corporate mindset. I have seen Disney take action against a Day Care Center who hired an artist to paint a mural of Disney characters, PR issue yes and a tiny benefit to WB who stepped up and granted permission to use their characters. Were I a Disney exec, would i have domne that....absolutely NOT, but at the same time I can understand their desire to protect their property.

No, you don't, and you are jumping to a conclusion that this is being released illegally when you admit you have no clue. If the agreement with Paramount is that they can give it away, but not sell it, then there is nothing wrong with this release. Not only that, these sorts of agreements are not unheard of. My best friend has the same type of agreement with Lionsgate regarding a documentary he made.

But keep digging yourself deeper with your assumptions.

And, again, I ask do you even own this title?

By your ignoring the question, I'm guessing the answer is no.

As The martian noted Ray, the Rules are specific

"DVD Video, HD-DVD Video, and Blu-ray Video" discs (including MiniDVD): These discs contain movies, television shows, music performances and other professionally-produced and sold DVDs.

The DVD is not sold, NO ONER can purchase it, so mcuh as it pains me. We can't list it, and the reason that it is not sold is because of Coopyright on Star Trek held by Paramouunt. Such things are allowed to be produced and even tolerated by Paramount as long as money is not being made.If they sold them then Paramountwould enter the picture very quickly and rightfully expect a piece of the pie.

The question that I have for ray, since you enjoy these, why would want them in a platform (DVDProfiler) where they become in effect salt in an open wound to Paramount, therebuy per haps endangering future productions.

I received an HD DVD disc and a Blu-ray disc with the purchase of their respective players. Neither had UPCs and were therefore slightly different from the UPC versions. I gave them away since I already had both discs, but they would have been contributable in my opinion. No different really than the situation with the OP since both discs came to me free with the purchase of something else.

And neither were labeled as a SCREENER either...were they. This IS. I won't say I like it, but I thinkk being conservative on these type of issues is the better part of valor. I don't go around punching bulls in the nose to try and get a rise out of them. I've tipped a few in my day...but that's a whole nother topic.

Keep it local,, use Disc ID- make it a child, Lock it off ,, Don't contribute .. if we make this screener available , Invleos would have to make all screeners available and I don't want that either ..
In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

Number one it's not a screener.
Number two, as has been said for three pages now, DVDs such as this are perfectly acceptable and there are many already accepted.
Number three, see number one and two
