If you only want to use the Crew section then -
Quote: Take Crew Credits from the film credits only; list names exactly as they are in the credits. Exception: If the credit information is entirely capitalized, use standard capitalization rules instead.
That's all it says under crew. It doesn't say that the film credits have to be actually attached to the film & again the powers that be gave the website for the film credits. Your "end credits" part is only under cast which if you only want to use crew rules, doesn't apply. My logic was to show that, when the rules say film credits, they mean the credits that are part of the film. It was a general association not a specific rule. I have a hard time believing that they mean anything else. But that's just me. Anyway, I think this conversation has run it's course...at least it has for me. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. While I agree the rules by their letter would prohibit the contribution, it certainly seems consistent with the spirit of the rules to allow what we lawyers call "incorporation by reference," in which case the website credits, referred to in the film credits, is actually part of the film credits. If I were a screener, I'd let it in. | | | ...James

And let's be clear, I am not the only one who believes the rules don't allow it. There are other people, posting in this thread, that agree it is against the rules. Others, still, that say an exception would have to be made to accommodate this situation.
I actually kinda figured the rules didn't allow it, since they aren't on the DVD. The only thing that made me question it was the inclusion of the web address in the film credits. I wish I could include them, I've typed them out all locally and added them accordingly (some of them even have other credits in my collection). From my POV it's a perfectly valid (as in correct) source, but I agree the way the rules are worded makes it not likely acceptable by Profiler standards. Once the current contribution goes through, I'll go ahead and submit the uncredited cast. I'm still not sure about the crew. There's so much agreement, that the source is not one that is generally acceptable but that the information is also valuable that I'm still torn about whether to submit it to the screeners and just let them figure it out. What I am interested in now is auditing my other National Geographic titles. I have 5 other single DVD titles and a box set from them. I really want to find out if they have the same minimal credits with directions to the website for full credits. I don't know what I'll do if they're all like this, but I'll have time on Sunday to audit them all so I'm going to do it, and I guess we'll figure it out from there. | | | If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. -- Thorin Oakenshield | | | Last edited: by Danae Cassandra |

She has always been willing to supply an answer when I have PMed her in these types of situations. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
